Pitchers of Margarita's, Guacamole to share and a fabulous waiter who knew how to time our meals and when to get involved in our conversations and when to give us some space! I wish we had called ahead to reserve the wonderful "couch tables" Our meals were wonderful as well!

Recommended by a friend who used to live in Philadelphia, we ate at El Vez on the second night of our stay in Philly. The Tito Santana guacamole was outstanding and we could have eaten even more. We had a taco and enchilada dish each for mains and they were both great. All of the dishes were fresh and very... More

With many restaurants closed due to the blizzard we began walking downtown looking for an open affordable place to eat. We walked in one which had open seating but was full, another with a long wait but were able to walk into here and get seated immediately. Great service and food. We had the tacos for two with beef and... More

We really enjoyed this place. The service was excellent, and the tables weren't that close together, so you could maneuver easily to the bathroom (or the photobooth!). We started with the pink cadillac margarita and the strawberry margarita (the only one that's frozen) - both were ~$10. We also got the tito santana guacamole ($16), which had habanero and mango... Although it's loud, it's a trendy cool environment. Never had a dish I didn't like here. It's just too loud. Service staff is professional and knowledgable. Just try any of their margaritas and you'll be happy.

We love this place. We go twice a year (we don't live in the city). The sangria and the margaritas are worth the price. Typically we go with a group get a few pitchers and order a bunch of appetizers. The service and food are top notch.

I have eaten at El Vez twice. Both times the food was good, but it's the margaritas that make this restaurant a must visit. I had 2 pineapple margaritas (chose salted rim rather than the recommended cinnamon sugar rim) and they were perfect, The guacamole was excellent and we also had shrimp tacos and sea bass tacos. The sea bass... More

Place is packed, and we were there on a Sunday. Decor is interesting, flashy. Service was fine, food good, but for me not worth it for the environment. If you are looking for a boisterous scene, this is your place. If you want to have dinner conversation without yelling as though you are in a bar, look elsewhere.

We had a special time at El Vez. Food was fantastic. Sani, our server, recommended the Mahi tacos to my wife and she loved them. The El Vez Guac and margaritas hit the spot after a long cold day of sightseeing. We will be back to this special restaurant.

Went here with the intention of eating but was so turned off by the service at the bar we left. The drinks were expensive and the bartenders uninterested in serving us. Drinks were silly expensive but good.
