We visited Philly on a Saturday and had little time to sightsee. But we asked our hosts to take us to a real Philly Steak place. THIS was the ONE! Totally original. No frills. We tried 3 types of Philly steak sandwiches. They were all...More

Still searching for the quintessential Philly cheesesteak, and this wasn't it. Had been here many years ago but the steak was overcooked and dry, with hardly any "wit" (fried onions). We ordered 3 of the same sandwiches an once and they were all different in...More

I have been going to Steve's since I was in High School in 1982. I still go back whenever I go to Philadelphia, even if it is a half hour drive. A slightly different style of cheesesteak than most places. The steak is cut thicker...More

I'm devastated. Usually, when I go to Steve's, I get two cheesesteaks. Today, I wish I didn't even have one. There was less meat and less cheese. It wasn't good at all. Maybe they've gotten too big or maybe they just don't care. Either way,...More

The best cheesesteaks are here in philly and Steve's is the best in town so there you have it! Grew up in Philly and have been eating there for more than 15 years. If you aren't from philly, this is the place to go. You...More

In my opinion, Steve's is THE best cheesesteak in Philadelphia, and it's not even close. The meat is always perfect, and the bread is always fresh. Prices are great, too, given how much food you get.

The best cheese steak in Philly, end of discussion! It's not the chopped up crap that sits on the grill all day like Jim's and Pat's serves. Don't waste your time and money anywhere else.

After going to all the tourist traps first found out where the locals go! This chain is definitely the winner. Open 24hours and quick and fast! Cash Only and they have ample parking. Want a "Philly Cheesesteak" experience you won't go wrong at Steve's!

This was my first "traditional" Philly Cheesesteak. From everything I've read, it was spot-on. Being from the South, I prefer a different style of steak sandwich. Regardless, it was exactly what I expected and tasty nonetheless! Recommended!

If I'm understanding you correctly. They are Cherry peppers. they come in a vinegar brine and usually washed off and stored in a good EVOO to lower the spice level. They come in a bunch of different containers.
