We came for a late breakfast (as always ;) ) and had a great time! Food was fantastic, we had the Egg Benedict Salmon and a daily special of Frittata du Jour with roasted Brussels sprouts, both really good. Kids had pancakes, one normal one whole wheat, both fluffy and nice. Service was friendly, orders came quick. This is not... More

We decided to try sweet basil for brunch on a late Sunday morning last week. When we got there, the place was packed and we were told that we would have a 35 to 40 minute wait. We were very pleasantly surprised when we were seated after only 10 minutes. The menu for breakfast/brunch is pretty large, with a nice... More

Sweet Basil Cafe and Grill moved to Livingston, on South Livingston Ave. almost across from Shop Rite. This is a family restaurant serving excellent food. Service was excellent.I had the Scallop and honeydew cucumber gazpacho, my husband had the swordfish on fennel and crushed potatoes, they were both excellent. You can bring your own wine.

I called to plan a surprise brunch for my mother's 60th. When I called to find out if I could stop by at lunch that day to look at the space and ask a few questions, the first response was "umm, we are busy durnig lunch so can you come at 2pm". Of course, I have a job so no... More

It has moved to Livingston on South Livingston Avenue near Shop Rite. The food and service continue to be excellent. The atmosphere is much better in this new location.

Great menu choices, food and drink options. Usually crowded though. Noise level a little loud due to the crowd. Really like the food.

This is a very cute unassuming place. Once inside, you'll feel comfortable as though in an urban bistro. The food is excellent, especially the Kale salad. Extremely reasonably priced. The place is popular and always packed. Good little eatery for a weeknight or for before a movie. It has a good following. The service is very attentive and top notch.... More

Have been there twice recently and the food is very good. Not much on atmosphere but service is prompt and dining experience was good. Each time I went the restaurant was packed by the time I left with couples, small groups and families.

This is our favorite brunch restaurant! The food is always delicious and the wait staff pleasant. We are rarely in town for lunch, but have had lunch here occasionally...and, again the food was always interesting and tasty. We will definately go to their new Livingston location!
