We always visit Gettysburg over the Thanksgiving holiday and have our dinner at General Pickett's Buffet. The restaurant is very busy on this day, so I would recommend making a reservation in advance. Our reservation was at 6:00 and we were seated immediately. The food choices were excellent and everything was well stocked. In addition to turkey, there was ham,... More

My dad made a reservation for 24 people for 3pm on Thanksgiving day. We (Dad and Mom, me and my family) arrived at 2:30. Not only was our table ready, we weren't there five hot minutes before we had service. It was incredible, home made food, hot, fresh and constantly refreshed buffet. It was the best buffet I've experienced in... More

Reservations were necessary, there were seatings. We had a reservation, thankfully. We were seated right away but saw many waiting due to no reservations. Turkey great, roast beef great, seafood newburg great. Salad bar great. Yams meh, stuffing meh. Potatoes awful, green beans awful. Deserts were very good and plentiful. Server was great, all though rushed. Buffet so...Not a huge... More

I've been here many, many times - and I keep going back. This time Mom came with me - we went back three times in a five- dark stay. The food is good, with enough selection that she could eat well even with her food restrictions. The staff is great, too - very friendly and welcoming. There's a reason I... More

Food was wonderful. They clearly cater to tourist and townies alike. It is a buffet style set up. If the food got low, it was replaced immediately. The wait staff were friendly, proficient and knowledgeable. The price is something you can swollow as well. My bill was $17.89. Will definitely go back.

If one wants to eat without possible tour group interruptions, you may not want to dine here or consider eating later in the afternoon. The food selection consists of dessert, salad/soup and a meat bar. The price for my buffet was $10.95 and beverages are $1.75. The plates are larger than Golden Corrals. I observed the wait staff explained all... More

For the price, I was disappointed. The buffet was small in choices. The waiter acted like we were putting him out.

We made a dinner reservation for our group of 30 including teenage boys and adults. Everything was set up and ready for us when we arrived. Food was plentiful and perfect for a group of hungry boys after hiking 10 miles that day! Staff was so inviting and catered to all of our needs including a boy with severe food... More

I have to say my wife was not happy that I took her to a buffet, BUT once she started eating, she had to admit it was a good choice. Great food at a great price a real southern comfort zone in PA.

General Pickett's Buffet is very good. The food is plentiful. There is a carving station with prime rib, ham and turkey. Everything else is fresh and tasty. The desserts are outstanding, such as apple pie, lemon meringue pie, carrot cake and banana cake. This place is an absolute treat.
