I came here with a group of Co-workers hoping they were back open. Yes they are and the food was great. I ordered the fried crawfish tails with fries. They have not lost their touch. I usually order the swamp burger which has always been great but today I'm glad I choose differently.

We were visiting Jacksonville, Florida, and we visited this restaurant based on the great reviews on Yelp. Before we ordered their famous half pot of chowder, we asked the waitress if there was any cream in the soup. She said yes, but it tasted like stewed vegetable soup with no cream, and we could barely detect any fish or clams.... More

Just don't understand why this is so popular. Staff was nice but it smelled like sewage. Obviously has large local lunch following just not for me.

This is a small place off the road on my way to and from work to Blount Island (previously). A co-worker recommended it. Excellent recommendation. The tuna steak is dynamite! Make sure and give yourself time as the small place is packed quick!

An old friend and me meet here about once a month for lunch. A friendly, neighborhood type atmosphere inside. Parking can be tight at times as is the seating. The seafood is always hot and fresh. I forgo the delicious chowder due to it being served in a Teflon coated pot with a lot of the finish most likely passed... More

Mom and pop local seafood diner. Good food, but could have had a friendlier waitress. Local regulars got warm greetings; maybe she just didn't like our looks.

Peal and ear shrimp was fantastic! We had that as our appetizer followed by the fresh grouper special. Awesome! Great service too!!

Stopped in to Chowder Ted's for the first time today, although I've passed it numerous times. If you're coming from Amelia Island you'll miss it! They had a special, Blackened Mahi with mango salsa and slaw, which I ordered. It came up quick, and was excellent! Whole lot of character to this place, right on the water.

Every time we go to Jacksonville to visit family we always go to Chowder Teds at least once. I always get a pot of chowder and the clam strips ( best clam strips I have ever eaten in my life!) and my hubby likes the fried shrimp. We've never had a bad meal here.

Wife and I enjoyed the excellent chowder.... We followed it up with the Cajun shrimp sandwich and blackened snapper salad. We will definitely be back to enjoy some more great seafood. 😃 Note: CASH ONLY!!
