I thought the fish and chips were quite good, but not really the best in Astoria. They are made to order and the place is quite popular so prepare for a bit of standing in line wait.

I'm a new local as of 9/24/16. I've heard so much about The Bowpicker, including the huge lines, so was pleased one weekday to see only about 3 people in line. I quickly made a u-turn and headed in their direction! The fish is tuna, which surprised me, since I've never had tuna in fish & chips. Usually, it's cod... More

You don't see one of these everywhere! If you want the unique experience of ordering fish-n-chips from a boat on land, you have to go to Astoria. Even if the food was horrible, this would be cool, but the food is just perfect for fish-n-chips lovers. Between this and places like Mary Todd Workers Tavern (a true dive bar), this... More

This meal was the best fish and chips I've ever had. The fish wasn't greasy. The breading was light and tasty. The fries were perfect. I had to wait in line for about 30-40 minutes and it was 100% worth the wait.

Conveniently located opposite the Maritime Museum. Really good fish and chips. Served right out of the boat!

After a 3 hour visit to the maritime museum, it was time for lunch. Right across the street is Bowpicker. Lets call it a food truck constructed out of an old boat. Checked the reviews and was surprised to see it rated #1 in Astoria. We waited in line for about 20 minutes but boy it was worth it! They... More

I'm not one who eats fried food, I do like to watch what I eat, but every now and then you just need to "be bad" and eat something fun!! Love the fish here. They use tuna and not cod. Very good....always a line!!!

This quirky little place literally is a boat--you walk up, place your order at a window in the bow of the boat, move down the line to the stern and grab your fish. The only thing on the menu is fish and chips, though you can decide how many pieces you want. The fish is caught that day, and simply... More
