Lured in by the great reviews, we gave this tiny little restaurant a try and were pleasantly rewarded. With only 9 tables, it feels a bit crowded at first, but you get used to that and then the wonderful food becomes the focus. Or maybe it was the 9% alcohol Piraat beer that set the mood. The host/server was patient and... More

My daughter and I went to Drina Daisy and were pleasantly surprised. The man who waited on us was courteous and knowledgable about the cuisine. The orchids at the tables were beautiful, as were the other plants. The food was nicely presented and delicious.

I'm usually a strong woman but the man who was working here the day I went really hurt my feelings with his rudeness. My husband and I we went to Astoria JUST to try this restaurant and its lamb. A man in his 50's that was working there was very rude to us. I don't know if it was the... More

It is unclear to us why anyone going to such great lengths to experience our food would decline an invitation to be seated, stating that they wanted to "read the menu first," & then interpret the suggestion that "the food is better understood when eaten" as a demand to leave. More

On a day trip with friends we happened upon this gem. I can't remember the names of the dishes but all were excellent. I had the stuffed cabbage with beef. Tremendous. Friends had the pita/phyllo with beef. Again, excellent. We shared an appetizer of pickled vegetables with cured meats and a basket of bread with pepper spread. I'm so happy... More

If you are going to be in Astoria, this is a wonderful place to eat. The dining room is immaculate, with blooming orchids on every table. The host is friendly without being intrusive and happy to explain the various selections on the menu. The food is delicious and its presentation impecable. One of us had the cabbage stuffed with vegetables... More

I love this place and our last visit didn't disappoint. I love lamb and it's always roasted fresh daily. My wife loves the stuffed grape leaves. Spinach pie is a must but it takes awhile. Call 5 minutes out and ask Ken to have Fordinka get started on it. ( Ken serves and Fordinka cooks) (FYI She was born in... More

Well worth the time and the pricing is very reasonable! Quaint in most all aspects, service that is personal, friendly and knowledgeable. (She cooks, he waits, serves and busses) Food that is tasty, filling and on a comfort food level. My friends love their rack of lamb, I have never had anything except wonderful dining and they have a wonderful... More

I guess that would be like a little slice of Bosnia while visiting Astoria. The only reason I went was from the Tripadvisor reviews. Some folks really liked it,some maybe not so much. It was Saturday between 3 or 4 o'clock. Not busy and our host/waiter acknowledged us right away and gave us our choice of tables. We started with... More

We felt like we had stepped into a small, intimate Eastern European restaurant at the Drina Daisy. I recommend the Zeljanica - unlike the Greek Spanakapita you might have imagined. A large portion is baked only when ordered with fresh ingredients by a 3rd generation chef using genuine authentic recipes. It was fun to taste the Cockta - a Yugoslavian... More
