Authentic and homey. If your just looking for a good burger and great service with good music, this is the place. Game room upstairs and pleasant folks downstairs. Great service two days in a row. Thanks Beverly!

Six travelers looking for a place to eat lunch and we came upon the Bayou Café. The place had super atmosphere and the service was awesome. We all tried a little bit of everything on the menu. We were happily pleased with our choices. One...More

We had a blast here on Friday night listening to the live music and having a couple drinks. The Ben Keiser Trio was a really great bluesy band and played a mix of music. All the staff in the bar were friendly and were attentive...More

The food was good. We ordered lemon pepper wings, the crab claws dipped in a special sauce, and gumbo. We were in town during Octoberfest, so that may have impacted the speed of service. There's a bar and it looks more pub-like inside. There were...More

Located on River Street, the Bayou Cafe offers a small but varied menu for lunch/dinner in a small bar & grill atmosphere. The boiled and fried shrimp baskets we had were good. Came back at night after ghost tour for cold beer & live southern...More

The food was decent (I had a Crabcake sandwich & my wife had a Barbecue sandwich) but the service was atrocious. We arrived at 2PM. There was one waitress (Casey) working the floor of 10 tables in the bar area. When we walked in 4...More

Dashed into the Bayou Cafe for an early dinner, after cruising the Bacon Festival on River Streeet. The place has more of a "pub" atmosphere than a cafe. We ordered out meal and waited... and waited... and waited. Twenty-seven minutes later, our food arrived. My...More

We ate there for lunch. My wife got the crab cake dinner and I got the "choose 2" combo with crab cake and fried shrimp. While the service wasn't great, (the guy running the place had a million things to do), he was super friendly....More

Don't expect a quiet cafe. It is, unashamedly, a bar with billiards and a live band. The tables are crowded, and the ambiance is BAR. That being said, we really enjoyed our food, the service was personal and friendly. Best fried pickles I've ever eaten....More

Ciaira, thank you for your question. At The Bayou Cafe, we actually cook the sausage seperate so we can offer the red beans and rice as a Vegetarian option.

I think it would be fine for an earlier dinner. There are TONS of restaurants on the water, though. You can always pop in, look around, and decide to move on to another place fairly easily.
