I've been a few times now over past couple of months. Excellent on many levels: great service, great atmosphere, lots of fun. The manager Chris is an excellent guy, great wine suggestions from him and great service - thanks Chris! Favorites are the mussels, meatballs,...More

Came here with kids and friends for dinner. Ordered multiple tapas. Food was good. I especially enjoyed the eggplant. The octopus was well prepared. I ordered meatballs for my kids and corn. Asked for it not to be hot (some say spicy) but corn was...More

We ordered artichokes, mushrooms, peppers, patatas bravas, and mozzarella with rhubarb sauce. All were tasty, yet undistinguished versus other Boston-area tapas restaurants. Crowded, noisy, and hip, Barcelona is popular now with a young clientele. We’ll see if it will be in a year.

There is a reason this is the #1 restaurant in Brookline - tapas is amazing (there is something for everyone), the prices are reasonable, and the wine selection is excellent. I was amused to find other reviewers complaining about the wait and the noise -...More

I have been here a couple of times and have always enjoyed my food. It is a bit overpriced and does not take reservations so that can be a deterrent. However, the sangria, food and atmosphere are worth it! I recommend for friends. It is...More

If you love a crowded club feel with young adults with intact eardrums and full wallets then this is the place! A fun vibe, but the tapas are mediocre and the decibel level is extraordinary. I’d go again if I could snag an outdoor table...More

High prices, pretty average tasting food of seafood paella and hanger steak. Our dishes were pretty bland and at room temperature. Overpriced!

The tiny plates are not worth the ridiculous wait. They tell you an hour and that is a serious underestimate

Barcelona meets Brookline, and a sophisticated Boston neighborhood has a wine bar to call its own. A historic town located minutes from downtown Boston, Brookline is the perfect mixture of urban and country living. From large estates and recreational parks to boutiques and pedestrian-filled streets, Brookline offers a city atmosphere in a suburban setting. Located in Washington Square at 1700 Beacon Street, Barcelona is the newest addition to this lively neighborhood dining destination. A mix of antique wire glass, steel and reclaimed wood gives our newly built space a vintage appeal. The rustic, polished environment is the next best thing to eating tapas and drinking wine in our restaurant's namesake city. With hardwood floors, floor-to-ceiling windows, and spacious patio, the space has a European charm which fills the menu as well.
