Had a chance to drop here and their bagels are excellent - lots of polish style pastries - Love it - will be back...

Our family stops by and loads up on pastries and other baked goods whenever we visit NYC. Located out in the Greenpoint neighborhood in Brooklyn, the Polish bakery has become a tradition for us. My favorite are the poppy seed roll and the almond babka, but you will also find a variety of loaf breads, strudels, bagels, cakes, cookies, and... More

Go for the hot delicious coffee, a fresh bagel and shmear, and a long counter of tantalizing baked goods. There's also a wonderful feeling of community between the employees and patrons. Really nice to see such a warm connection between people on both sides of the counter. That's not so common these days.

When we first walked in we couldn't believe all the breads and desserts they offered. It was definitely Old World. They had 4-5 different Polish newspapers and magazines there too! We had stopped by to get coffee and something to nosh on while killing time. My sister had a chocolate croissant and I had a cheese stuffed roll of some... More

We were staying two blocks down the street at the Henry Norman Hotel and found Syrena after our first day or two. Afterward, we went back every day. It might be a little off-putting for a visitor because it seems like a remnant of the area from another time: Polish language newspapers on tables and very little English spoken by... More

What a gem this was. This was our breakfast place, ham & cheese bagels, pastries, donuts, chocolate bundt cake, slices, cakes all baked on the premises and served with a coffee. A great start to the day.

We have been to this polish bakery 3 times during our stay at the Henry Normen Hotel . The bagels are very good and fresh ,the cakes are okay, depends on your taste . The polish staff, except the one who wasn't polish for sure, seemed to be anoid and unfriendly by taking the orders,no matter if you spoke english or polish. I... More

Syrena bakery is a great place to experience the taste of polish pastries and goods. I bought a whole loaf of white break for only $2.40! Also i love their apple cake with crumbs and cheese cake with chocolate crumbs on top. Service is nice too. The girls are extremely funny and can start a conversation about anything just to... More
