We had been walking and touring the city and really needed a break. It was a gorgeous day and wanted to sit outside and enjoy the sun. We sat out on the patio and ordered a Mojito which was awesome! Our server was laid back and only came around when our drinks were empty, which we enjoyed. It was a... More

For $10 something that's so easy to make should be little bigger than a Quarter (.25cent). The LimeAde drink is very refreshing. We wanted to substitute minor sides on meal and couldn't. Empanadas little dry. However the entree were pretty good. Loved the Fries

The free plantain chips and mango salsa were a great start to our meal. The mojito was especially yummy! There was a nice gourmet take on traditional recipes. The pernil ropa vieja appetizer was delicious, as was the bistec with chimichurri and chile dusted fries. A nice meal in a convenient location.

Ideya sits prominently on the corner of Flatbush Avenue and Park Place in Brooklyn’s Prospect Heights neighborhood. Yet somehow as you walk in, you feel like you’ve been transported to the Caribbean. Warm lighting, colorful murals, and flickering candles create a tropical atmosphere. On the November evening we dined there, the garage-style doors had been rolled back to let in... More

The atmosphere here is so laid back and warm. This is the perfect spot to come with a couple friends and relax for a couple rounds of drinks and great Cuban food. The mojitos are second to none, and their happy hour is so worth it! It's directly across the street from the subway, so getting there is not an... More

Horribly over-cooked industrial salmon, tasteless rice & beans. (Really, how do you ruin rice & beans? No seasoning, no spices, literally plain white rice & and flavorless not completely cooked red beans.). Sadly the more flavorful oxtail stew was more fat than oxtail. $60. in Brooklyn is better spent elsewhere.

Warm atmosphere. Delicious food. Everything on the menu was a hit at our table. You must order the mojito drink. The crushed spearmint leaves were generous and lime balance was thirst quenching. We took ours without alcohol. Exquisite appetizers. Especially the shrimp. Arrozo de pollo was an absolute succulent dish. This restaurant knows how to flavor each dish to perfection.... More

Unusual but interesting menu. Good portions and flavourful! Friendly service. Basic but fun decor. I would return!

On a recent trip back to NY we broke from our usual routines and explored Brooklyn where I discovered Ideya (I had been to the restaurant when they were in SoHo years ago). The new space is light-filled, airy and has garage door walls so you can enjoy the late summer weather and watch the passersby. It is a quick... More

A group of friends joined us for dinner at this neighborhood restaurant. We enjoyed the steak, oxtails and the grouper. The empanadas were pretty average but drinks were well balanced and good. It was a fun, lively atmosphere with great Latin music being played. A fun night.
