Under major renovation, but more imagination could have gone into just putting some tables and a very temporary bar area into a normal room. Poor menu choice, and mine was stone cold - came back hot, but why couldn't it have been hot in the first place? Very impersonal ambience, and the usual 2 TVs competing with different sports. OK,... the Archives is usually a wonderful place to eat. However, it is being completely renovated. For the time being, food is served in a conference room. Not all that nice a place to eat, but when it is renovated, the pictures and model look like it will be top notch.

My wife and I were visiting her family in Brooklyn and on a Sunday night we decided to visit the Marriott where we had enjoyed a very good brunch some time ago. We called for reservations and were not told that the main room was undergoing renovations. We were sent to a small conference room that was substituting. The menu... More

We had several meals here (our hotel). Very good drinks, though NY $ (~$14 vs $9 home). Odd juxtapositions, I had a very good ribeye meal at $25 and a hamburger at $20. The Cobb salad is robust and tasty. Beers are quite reasonable ($7) by draft or bottle. The mixed greens with shrimp (salad) & mac n cheese were... More

Since the restaurant is closed, the same meals are now served in the Archives Bar. There's a section with tables next to the bar which is comfortable. I was there for dinner and it was unremarkable - and expensive. I had the mac n cheese with grilled chicken; the chicken was dry and the cheese sauce should have been creamier... More

My husband and I stopped here for a late afternoon drink and appetizers after roaming Brooklyn and working up an appetite and a sweat. We walked into the restaurant and nobody greeted us. We were completely ignored. Undeterred, we seated ourself at a booth. A few moments later, a waiter appeared and gave us menus. We ordered drinks, which took... More

Three of us were staying at the Marriott for business and ate at the hotel bar/restaurant. The steak (I ordered the tenderloin dinner at $30; the other two, the ribeye special at $25, I believe) had to have been one of the best steaks I've ever had, and I've dined on what were supposed to be $50 steaks. The mashed... More
