We went there for a romantic couple dinner, and if you really wanted to enjoy the experience ensure you get a window table otherwise the experience would be normal. The price is expensive but of course your paying the location and the city. Starters are a little short in quantity, but main course and dessert are correct.

I always wanted to comes but I couldn't the last few times I was in NY because of the aftermath of Hurrincane Sandy. My initial impression of the restaurant was that the decor was dark and"heavy". The tables are crammed close to one another so there's not much privacy. The waiters were attentive and the service was good. However, it... More

An island of greenery in the midst of urban chaos, this resturant offers a spectacular view of the downtown Manhattan skyline from acoss the East River. The service is impeccable and the food is very good. The portions are small, however. The prices are breathtakingly high. A once in a lifetime experience after winnng the Lottery ...

We booked The River Cafe for our special birthday dinner while in New York and is was absolutely amazing. Nor cheap but worth ever single penny for the amazing food experience, service, and the views. We even got some extra birthday touches on our dessert having tweeted in advance :-)

We arrived at 6pm and never imagined how amazing and breathtaking meant to see the day ending while Manhattan began to turn it's lights on..Beyond words. The restaurant is elegant, I understand it has been recently re modeled. Minimum required, Business Casual dress code , Men must wear Jacket . Great wine list, extraordinary food, "haute cuisine" . Excellent service... More

We celebrated my birthday dinner with a memorable dinner at this lovely venue just across the Brooklyn Bridge. The views of Manhattan are renowned. The dining room is quiet and elegant, the pianist excellent, the service impeccable, the foie gras delectable--if you ask, they will sear it instead of serving the terrine shown on the menu. The best, meatiest, most... More

I took my boyfriend here for dinner to celebrate his birthday while we were in New York for a few days. Everything from the view and the service to the food and the wine is fantastic. I actually can't find fault with the River Café at all. The set price allows you to relax when choosing from the menu as... More

Four of us decided to go to celebrate our 30th birthdays and it was brilliant. It would have amazing views but it was snowing when we went but that didn’t matter at all. It has a brilliant setting on a barge on the Brooklyn side of the Brooklyn Bridge. We started off with wonderful cocktails at the bar. They had... More

First and foremost, this place offers breathtaking views of Manhattan skyline. The grounds of the restaurant are also very nice and romantic. The service was impeccable. You don't go to this restaurant solely to fill your stomach, because you will not - the portions are tiny, albeit delicious. You go to this place to impress your date with your taste... More
