I am a native New Yorker and this is the quintessential Jewish deli- the pastrami was served in heaping portions and was excellent. It was a pleasure to meet Lloyd who spent a good 20 minutes with us, much of it stand up comic stuff that had us rolling. Highly recommended, and there are also many wonderful neighborhoods to explore... More

Think The famous Katz's deli and other similar NYC spots are great... I've tried them all. I'm a native New Yorker raised on this stuff. Let me tell you about an off-the-beaten-path spot called Jay & Lloyd's... First of all, let's have a laugh about their sign in the front "Come in and eat or we'll both starve." Now listen... More

The food is as good as it gets. They even have vegetarian and diabetic healthy choices. The corned beef and pastrami made on the premises are outstanding. Big sandwiches and the grandma-made specialties. One of the last authentic Jewish Delis left in the City. Worth regular trips to Avenue U for a real old fashioned treat! At least one of... More

When I'm in the neighborhood, my appetite craves their pastrami, corned beef, or brisket. Always a tough decision.

My wife and I had a late lunch here on favorable report on trip advisor. Did not disappoint! My wife's brisket was the best she ever had except for hers of course. The owner and the server did their best to make this a memorable experience. When in Brooklyn make sure to stop there

We have been eating Jewish Deli here for more than 20 years and the food is consistently delicious and very high quality!!!! Everything you have ever loved and eaten that should come from a Jewish Deli or your Grandma or Mother made is here in spades. Portions are very generous. Everything is freshly made and homemade there at the deli.... More

There are very few Kosher delis left, this was a mainstay for my husband and I to take his 85 year old mother. Going forward it will be take out, or an alternative. We sat down yesterday in a not so crowded dining room, the "hostess" told us the waitress would be with us shortly. The waitress asked if we... More

Went to Jay and Lloyd's today to have lunch with my mother. The new signage outside really makes the deli stand out and gives it an updated feeling. While on the inside you can smell the fresh hot pastrami and corn beef. It will excite your senses and get your mouth watering. The seating arrangement is comfortable and spacious. I... More
