Not always the best choice to stay on opening day. A lot of amenities in the park are not open or we just had bad luck with our timing. Luckily we had sandwich fixings. The room is very nice, amazing views from our room, very clean and comfortable.

We ate in the Far View Lounge because Metate Room required reservations -- we not advised of that when we checked in. Servoce -- short staffed. Waiter had to go downstairs to restaurant to get hot water for tea. Brought the hot water but no tea bags, cups, spoons or sugar. had to remind him and still didn't get spoons... More

We had kids with us, so we didn't feel like spending the $30-40 per person for the Metate room. The Terrace Cafe was closed for the season, so we went up to the Far View Lounge. So glad we did. The menu is not extensive, but they did a fine job on the items that we tried. The burgers and... More

We enjoyed a quick bite to eat upon arriving at the Far View Lodge. We enjoyed a couple of appetizers to hold us over until dinner. The lounge is quiet and relaxing.

the walls are very thin here and you can easily hear loud conversations, but if you can deal with that, these rooms are a great way to experience the park, and it's night skies. Beds are very comfortable and rooms are nicely outfitted. So glad I was able to stay here for a night.

We had a late lunch early dinner. The menu is very limited. We had Bison burgers that were tasty but overcooked and very dry even with lots of sauce and arugula on them. We shared a salad that was very good and was big enough for 2 as a side .the meal was pricey, service so, so as there was... More

The rooms are in blocks of 5 or 6 per building. Each unit has a deck on the back which looks out over the canyon and mountains. Everything was amazing.

If you want a simple meal after your day of dwelling visits and hikes, choose the Far View Lounge. It is above the Metate Restaurant (where you'll need a reservation) and doesn't take reservations. Menu is simple. Go early (5:00 or so) and enjoy the view. In good weather, you can sit outside. Menu is small, but adequate and will... More

This is the more relaxed dining option at the Far View Lodge within Mesa Verde National Park. We tried it once for dinner and were very disappointed. The waitstaff were confused, with multiple servers unsure of what tables they were covering or what the should be doing (based on the conversations we could overhear). For example, three different servers asked... More

A convient choice for evening meal. Actually the only choice. My chicken was merely ok, and my dining partner had an elk quesida, she was pleased, I could not finish my selection. If you are looking for the sunset you will not find it here. Next trip I will bring my own supper.
