Excellent food, big portions, great old time atmosphere. Get there early so , you don't have to wait outside. Yes the lines will be out the door.

Went on a Sunday morning. After a short wait the 3 of us were sited in a booth. It was cramped and we aren't overly large. I had an omelet and hash browns. The omelet was browned on both sides and the hash browns were more like breakfast potatoes that were mashed up a little. My wife had pancakes. There... More

We were up early on a Saturday morning. My boyfriend had never tried Mickies. I had been there before. I thought it was OK, but I never understood the lines. We both ordered omelets. I got a side of Yanks (potatoes) and he got a side of bacon. The pieces of vegetables in my omelet were cut larger than I... More

It had been more than 10 years since I last ate here, and it was just as good as I remembered! Enjoyed watching as my husband, a newbie, ordered entirely too much food. Milkshake and pancakes for breakfast? Why not! Don't worry, you can always take stuff to go!

If you get there early enough, you can beat the college kids. If not, be prepared to wait in line. Either way, it's worth it for an excellent Wisconsin breakfast that either leaves you with leftovers or wishing you had stopped earlier. I generally get an omelet and my kids get some type of pancake. Classic diner food but higher... More

This is your classic hole in the wall cafe with that old fashioned way to it and it is absolutely my favorite little place to eat breakfast in Madison. Wonderful service, excellent food, and cheap prices! There is usually a line going out the door to get in but don't let that deter you away, they handle their lines very... More

Best breakfast on the Isthmus. If you are hungry for a big breakfast and you are near the Isthmus, there is no place better than Mickies. Mickies Dairy bar is located across the street from Camp Randall. If you plan to go on a football Saturday, go early! The place is packed, but well worth the wait. You will enjoy... More

You can not go wrong with waiting for breakfast at Mickies!! We only had about a 10 minute wait on a Saturday morning at 10:30 a.m. Great coffee, amazing food that you will want to eat every last bite, but have no room in your stomach for all of it. Reasonable prices, also. BRING CASH! They don't accept checks or... More

You might have to wait outside in the cold but it is well worth the wait. They accept cash only but do have an atm inside. There is a very kind hostess that comes outside to see how many are in your party and when room allows she directs you inside to wait along the wall to warm up a... More

If you're in the mood for BIG breakfast skillets smothered in cheese, then this is your place! At 1pm on Sunday, the line for breakfast was still out the door, but worth the wait. My husband and I ordered the breakfast skillets, my boys had shakes, burgers and cheese curds...we could have easily been rolled out of there. The portions... More
