My sister and I came to NOLA for a birthday trip. We were saying off of magazine street and saw Sucre and knew we had to go. One night we stopped for dessert and I'm so glad we did! I got the cookies and cream cupcake which was a recommendation from Kelsy (employee). It was moist and chocolatey and had... More

The concierge at our hotel (Loews) suggested we skip dessert where we were having dinner that night and go here instead. God bless her for that suggestion! We LOVED our delicious cupcakes - to die for! My only regret was that I couldn't try one of everything. It all looked so delectable. Do yourself a favor and make sure you... More

Walking up and down Magazine Street is hot work. What a way to cool down that with a yummy cup of gelato? I have never had gelato before and I was pleasantly surprised at how good it tastes. It is heavier in weight than ice cream and tastes 1000 times better too. Steve and I both got different kinds and... More

Great gelato, macarons, chocolates and desserts. The service is excellent too. The hardest part is deciding what to order.

Great spot for a sweet treat as we walked through the garden district. The kids had ice cream (actually may have been frozen yogurt or custard) and I had a chocolate macaroon.

Ended a fabulous day walking around the French Quarter and New Orleans with Sucre French Macarons. They were perfectly done, not too sweet and very flavorful! This is a must if you are in New Orleans, I know I will be coming back soon.

We stopped here for some ice cream on a hot day and ended up leaving with ice cream, truffles, and dessert. A little pricy but well worth it. Sucre is located on Magazine St which is just a fifteen minute walk from our hotel on St Charles. If you only get one thing, please try the ice cream. You won't... More

Staying in Garden District

Neighbourhood Profile
Garden District
Head to the Garden District for the full-on New Orleans experience replete with quaintly clanking streetcars, proudly grandiose antebellum mansions, picture perfect avenues lined with live oaks loaded down with Spanish moss, and a wealth of beautiful churches and many more architectural marvels. Even a brief excursion here makes plain why it’s called the Garden District. So, when you visit be sure to give yourself ample time for admiration at a languidly slow pace befitting such gentile strand of riverside living and to allow you to maximize each opportunity to stop and smell the roses – and whichever other blooms you might come across. While taking it all in, you’d do well to dine at one of the city’s most beloved destinations for regional cuisine. Gourmands from far and wide (and right round the corner) swear the age-old Commander’s Palace is the best restaurant in town – and have been doing so since it opened back in 1880.
