We enjoyed our meal. The service was good, and we liked the ambiance. The food was good not great which is why I didn't rate this higher. The octopus appetizer was outstanding, and I wish it was served as an entree. The salad special with heirloom tomatoes was quite tasty. My husband thought his duck was too much. He liked... More

The creative artistry of the dishes is only second to the palette-pleasing flavors. They get it right...literally...all the time. Seasonal and staple menu items are always a mix of the best of local ingredients and fresh ideas on how to prepare them. The ambiance, the bar, the wait-staff are some of the best New Orleans has to offer. A bit... More

Lunch at Patois was both delicious and affordable. The service was exceptional and was overall a great experience. Parking in the neighborhood was a little difficult, so allow a little extra time.

The food at Patois was wonderful. great fried oyster salad. delicious lamb ribs. And the homemade biscuits with pulled pork brunch was divine. Service was outstanding. The only reason why I didn't give it a 5 is because parking was an issue. And don't sit upstairs by the bathroom. it's a direct view and too close. but we asked to... More

Took three daughters for a "date night". Emily was a great server. Food, drink, desserts were great. This is one of my favorite NOLA restaurants.

I took my mother to restaurant Patois earlier this year, excited and eager to try French and New American cuisine that is locally sourced. However, we were pretty much ignored by our server and sat for a long time before our food arrived. I had ordered the rabbit and was completely underwhelmed. The rabbit was overcooked and the plate was... More

What a wonderful neighborhood restaurant! It was very refreshing to eat somewhere that didn't feel touristy. Food and service were excellent. The gnocchi appetizer was to die for!

I ate with a group at Patois. The setting is very pleasant and authentic. I had an appetizer and entree, neither of which wowed me. The menu doesn't offer too many options, which I see as a plus. The night I was there, however, none of the entrees really appealed to me. The wine by the glass list is also... More

The restaurant is 3 blocks from the Audubon Zoo and 6 miles from the French Quarter. We left our car at the hotel and took the bus using our three-day jazzy passes. Although there was a long wait for the bus, the ride was surprisingly quick and we were dropped off only two blocks from the restaurant. We were seated... More

Seemed really disconnected with long waits for drinks, wine showed up about 3 bites from finishing meal. Food was ok not poor, not great. Too much competition to go back.

Staying in Uptown / Carrollton

Neighbourhood Profile
Uptown / Carrollton
Very much their own self sufficient unit within the greater metro area, Uptown and Carrollton tone down the urban edge with a friendly attitude and collegiate feel. Home to Tulane and Loyola Universities, all the students living in the area ensure that Uptown and Carrollton stay youthful, cosmopolitan and vibrantly fun. Two of the liveliest thoroughfares for nightlife and socializing (and yes of course more of the city’s outstandingly good food and live music) are Oak Street and Maple Street. For a truly wild time, the expansive acreage of Audubon Park, with its zoo, golf course, and actual patches of swampy wetlands, means peace and quiet are never too far away.
