I have eaten fried chicken for many many years. I must say, I can't remember any being better. The mac and cheese, peas and cornbread was very good. The service was good but I could hear them fussing in the service area. The food looked...More

When I travel I always ask every local I encounter what their favorite restaurant is. In New Orleans the name Willie Mae's kept coming up followed by "The Best Fried Chicken You'll Ever Eat". So of course I had to try it. Guess what? It...More

If you're in New Orleans and want some awesome fried chicken for lunch, ya just gotta stop by Willie Mae's Scotch House. The standard order comes with three pieces (kitchen's choice), and one side. The side order of Butter Beans w/rice is a meal in...More

My friend chose to eat at Willie Mays for lunch. Went for a late lunch after a swamp tour. Waited outside for about 15 min. Not bad of a wait. Our waiter was very friendly and quick. I ordered a 3 piece with a side...More

I can't say enough about this place! The food was absolutely delicious! Some of the best fried chicken I have ever had! It was not too greasy and very well seasoned and the sides were so delicious (butter beans, red beans and Mac and cheese)....More

I visited the restaurant October 2016 with a group of girlfriends while celebrating a bachelorette party. There is a long wait upon arrival but the line moves pretty quickly. Once inside the restaurant is your average looking mom and pop food place. Nothing special about...More

Excellent fried chicken, great tasting sides of green beans, rice and gravy. Mac and cheese was excellent too. Now the problem my husband and I have is we compare other fried chicken to this place....and nobody can make the grade.

That sound? That flavor? That certain je ne sais quoi

to be the very best of New Orleans culture and

Yes you can and you should, if you cannot dine it! It is so worth the stop, though. The food is worth taking the time and eating there, I promise!
