I found Red Gravy by googling "french quarter breakfast." Red Gravy was the only restaurant not actually in the French Quarter that made the list because the author felt it was just that extra, and the author was right. When I read about the cannoli...More

Thank you so much. Red Gravy is just about to begin it's 8th year. We've worked so very hard for each and every 5 star review that we have. I read every single review; always have and always will. I don't, generally, reply to the...More

Thank you so much! We (and by 'we' I mean Lou) rolls each and every meatball by hand, every day. It's my family recipe; something we grew up with. I'm so happy you enjoyed it!

Always busy therefore expect a wait. The food was very good, my wife and I enjoyed an excellent brunch.

We were greeted by the owner Rosanne who was more than accommodating. The food was by far the best meal we had in new Orleans. The Meatball omelet with savory bread pudding was off the charts. Cant wait to go back

This restaurant reminds me somewhat of the places I used to eat Uptown when I was working summers here in the '70's. ie. Small, cozy places where the locals ate. As this restaurant is just off of Canal and the French Quarter, the tourist traffic...More

Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other
parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title
might suggest that this area is all about business and
little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you
away from the Central Business District. The CBD
offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be
touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the
world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts

We don't take reservations earlier than 8:30, but generally, on a weekday, walking in at that time is not a problem at all. If it's a weekend, if you are here when we open at 8am, you should be able to walk right in for a... More

Description
Bright and cheereful spot at the edge of the CBD, just across from the French Quarter. Red Gravy is a dedicated Farm to Table restaurant, sourcing most of our ingredients from local farmers, fishers and bakers. Currently listed as the #1 Brunch spot in New Orleans by OpenTable! Our brunch menu is comprised of traditional breakfast items, traditional Italian specialties like our handmade pasta and famous homemade meatballs, typical northern New Jersey/New York dishes and local, New Orleans favorites. Full service bar, cappuccino and espresso available. Come and eat, I always make too much!
