I usually love dive bars and this is definitely a dive bar. There's a lot to love about this place. The atmosphere is loud, lively and fun and everyone is friendly. The problem with this one is the place was filthy and smelled of garbage. To be fair this was the day after St Patrick's day but you would think... More

Have never been to a place with my name spelled the same. Awesome bar on magazine street. Came on a weekday mid day. Great bartenders who were super friendly. Ordered a roast beef Po Boy which was melt in your mouth delicious and a shrimp and oyster Po Boy which was exceptional. Must try! Boudin balls are also a must... More

When two days prior to St Patrick's Day and although inventory and food choices were limited the friendly nature of the establishment more than made up for it. The sandwich I ordered was out of stock so they gave me free gravy and cheese fries which were delicious and the sandwich I did end up getting the hot sausage po'boy... More

The Poor-boys are awesome, they had lots of options for everyone on the menu including oysters and a crawfish boil outside. Interesting place in a good location for daytime shopping.

Noisy, fun family eatery and drinkery. We were lucky to hit this spot on Oyster night with a very adept shucker out front so you could grab a taster before your beer. must have a muffaletts sandwich. mile high stacks of cold cut meats with pickles. best value around.

If you're a local or a pretty girl, I'm sure you will like this place. As a middle aged, male tourist, expect to wait forever for service.

Tracey's is a local beer joint (jug wine only) and good poor boys and salads, but the wait is 1 - 1 1/2 hours. Keep busy with a great oyster shucker! Good oysters - he knows his stuff!

While touring the Garden District, we decided to stop in for a cold drink and some a/c. There was a Saint's Game on that day, and it was fun to see all the team spirit and the vibe. There are plenty of big screens for sports. Clean bar. Basic bar food. Service was slow, but it was on a busy... More

We popped in for lunch on our 6-mile walk down Magazine street. We find something new every time we take this day-long stroll. Tracey's was absolutely great. Friendly staff, good food, huge portions, fresh-shucked oysters, great prices, a very fun vibe. We will make it a point to visit again in the future!

I arrived after a long flight about 7 pm. They were out of coleslaw, so I just had Sweet potato fries and a Beverage. There were Fresh oysters and other choices on the menu.

Staying in Garden District

Neighbourhood Profile
Garden District
Head to the Garden District for the full-on New Orleans experience replete with quaintly clanking streetcars, proudly grandiose antebellum mansions, picture perfect avenues lined with live oaks loaded down with Spanish moss, and a wealth of beautiful churches and many more architectural marvels. Even a brief excursion here makes plain why it’s called the Garden District. So, when you visit be sure to give yourself ample time for admiration at a languidly slow pace befitting such gentile strand of riverside living and to allow you to maximize each opportunity to stop and smell the roses – and whichever other blooms you might come across. While taking it all in, you’d do well to dine at one of the city’s most beloved destinations for regional cuisine. Gourmands from far and wide (and right round the corner) swear the age-old Commander’s Palace is the best restaurant in town – and have been doing so since it opened back in 1880.
