This place is wicked good. Small, 8 tables and no sign in sheet. Just wait at the door and as soon as an opening happens the will seat you. It's awesome. Check out the menu while waiting and order as soon as you sit. We are eating omelette a and burgers and Cochon benny with pork and biscuit. The yummy... More

Small, funky establishment with surprisingly tasty meal. Quick/light lunch stop for me and the grilled eggplant on ciabatta hit the spot. Felt like I had found one of those hidden local gems on a short visit to New Orleans!

We got there early so no wait (there was always a line when we'd walk by). Small place, friendly people, food was good. We had lunch, but several patrons had breakfast, so it's nice you can have either. Staff was very friendly and suggested I add bacon to my po boy and it was a great idea. Bacon goes good... More

We ate here based on previous reviews and were thrilled we did. Small restaurant with relaxed vibe. We took our food to go, i was worried that the 3 minute walk might compromise the quality but it didn't. Cochon de lait po boy was the BEST we had! Smokey flavours, crisp coleslaw on top was phenomenal. Bbq shrimp po boy... More

Breakfast here was wonderful. I ordered eggs Benedict on polenta cakes with crawfish hollandaise and vegetables and it was absolutely fantastic! Not your regular breakfast and i was originally looking at eggs benedict, but someone was walking out of the door and couldn't stop talking abot it.. Just what one would expect from breakfast in New Orleans and a little... More

Stayed out Marriott throughout New Year's nonstop rain. Jimmy J's was simply great. Little bitty with big flavor and personality. Breakfast was off the charts good. PoBoy was far superior to Acme and Felix's. The host also acted as tour guide, giving us great suggestions on other restaurants and places to visit during the rain.

Great little spot just off the main drag. This is a tiny little diner holds less than 50 people but the food is fresh and great quality and the wait staff is friendly and hustles non stop! the line outside normally last 30 minutes plus but worth the wait,

Very cozy, funky little dining space. Worth waiting in line outside for a table to open up. One of the few places in the French Quarter where you can get breakfast all day and they also have delivery service. Limited bar with some signature drinks. Our waiter was very attentive and friendly. Much better fare and value than you'll find... More

The only hesitation I have in writing this review is that I don't want the lines to get longer at Jimmy J's when people learn how absolutely fantastic it is. This is a must go for me every time I'm in New Orleans. Generous portions, bold flavors and seriously good comfort food. The restaurant is small (10-12 tables) so there... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
