In New Orleans for the weekend, I researched this place very carefully. A great steakhouse is the favourite destination for my wife and me, so we wanted to be sure that we picked a superior location. We did. Chophouse New Orleans is excellent. Bustling, welcoming, delicious. Our server was full of personality and helpful hints. The steak... was just what... More

This was our 3rd time dining at the Chophouse. It never disappoints. I had the 8 ounce filet, medium rare, and it was perfect. I am a huge fan of the Pittsburgh method of cooking steaks. Perfect char on outside, hot all the way through, and cooked to perfection. The Caesar Salad is a favorite. Mailae was our server and... More

Super place to get a great steak in New Orleans. It was a short walk from the Sheraton. Very small bar but very friendly bartender. I expected a great steak and was not disappointed. I did not expect the wow-factor of the onion rings. Two words... Get Them!

I have never had a bad meal at Chophouse. The food and service are always excellent. Even the ice water is great. My steaks are always cooked exactly as I order them. They have an excellent wine list. One of my favorite desserts is their cheesecake.

Outstanding steaks! I can see why this is rated in the top five in the city. Service was attentive but not annoying. I had the 12 oz filet and it was better than anything I have had in New Orleans. I would recommend highly and expect to be back soon.

When thinking about dining in New Orleans a steak house is typically not the fare that comes to mind but the Chophouse will make you change your mind. Great food and great service!

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
