I don't get what the fuss is over the beignets at Cafe du Monde. The best beignets are here. They don't have that fried oil taste that most beignets have. The beignets are usually thin and crispy plus they definitely give you enough powdered sugar. I would recommend the beignets and the unsweetened ice tea. As far as the rest... More

We 'scientifically' sampled many beignets in town and these were the BEST! Flaky, crispy outside, lighter than air, with a hint of salt to set off the sweetness. Save yourself the wait in the Cafe du Monde line and give these friendly folks a try. Fillings like peach or seafood availability, cash only.

Take out Beignets! Sometimes you want to walk and eat - this is the place for you! They do have tables or you can take out and walk the streets of the French Quarter. Wait in line to order from the full menu which includes excellent beignets. Easily as good as Cafe du Monde just a few feet away. Paying... More

Just steps from Jackson square, great food and coffee at more reasonable prices. Just a pick up window, and they only take cash, but they have live music and nice covered patio seating

Ok so we decided to try this place as Cafe Du Monde line was wrapped around the block. Since this place is in NO how bad could it be right ? So we orders Beignets, cafe au lait, and Jambalaya. Ok the Beignets were not too bad ... not as good as Cafe Du Monde but not too shabby. Now... More

We thought we were at a place we had a coupon for, turns out we didn't. Turns out we got some of the best food we've had in the city this weekend! I would have given 5 stars, but there was some snafu in the kitchen that almost threw us late for our cemetery tour. So we grabbed the bag... More

Off the four places I tried these Beignets were the best. Light, the right amount of confectionary sugar and no lines! You can sit outside int he shade and watch New Orleans go by.

The beignets at this cafe were the best I had while visiting NO - even better than Cafe Du Monde. These could be the best desserts I have ever had. We were there on Sunday night and they had a nice jazz band playing. I can't comment on the other food on the menu, but don't miss the beignets!

Everyone is going to tell you to go to Cafe Du Monde. You're going to walk by and see the crowd and think, "there must be something to what everyone is saying" and you're going to want to walk in. Resist that temptation and keep walking another 400 feet. You won't be disappointed. The beignets at New Orleans Famous Beignets... More

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
