It's something of a universal truth that if you see Chinese people eating in a Chinese restaurant, then it's a good choice. Where possible, restaurant owners would make sure to seat the Chinese people in the most prominent window seat so the world would see and know. So, what do you do when you walk into a restaurant and find... More

It has been said you cannot get a bad meal in New Orleans...I am sad to say "It ain't so!" Ordered crab Rangoon type appetizer and the disaster began. The breaking was thick and course. What little crab there was seemed like the thin, slimy parts of the crab normally pitched in the trash. The entree was supposed to be... More

We were looking for something to eat, not necessarily typical NOLA food as we had already been in the Quarter for a few days. Came across Jung's Golden Dragon. This is not a Chinese buffet. This is REAL Chinese food. I selected the Sesame Chicken. I believe it was the best I've ever had. They used two chicken breasts, breaded... More

My Daughter and two youngest grandsons in town for a week. A favorite revisited for my daughter and a first for the seven and nine year old. The nine year old pronounced: "This is way better than Panda Express!" The choices are plentiful--from two menus. One for typical American Chinese and a second with traditional mainland China cuisine. Take your... More

After the St Patricks Day Parade we decided to eat here because the staff had been so nice while we bought drinks during the parade. The General Tso Chicken and Beef/Broccoli were very good and the service was great. Nice family owned restaurant that we'd definitely return to.

We stopped here for lunch as we were exploring Magazine Street. It was after the lunch crowd. The egg drop soup was fantastic. We enjoyed all of the food. Staff was very helpful. It was a prefect stop for us as we were exploring the city.

Jung's once had the best Chinese food in New Orleans, but the quality has fallen and the prices have risen. I ordered delivery here last night, which came to around $30 for chicken lo mein, egg drop soup, crab rangoons, and an order of shrimp fried rice. The food was over salted all around, especially the soup. The fried rice... More

I cannot understand the poor reviews for food at this restaurant. We have always had excellent dishes and for this reason we keep returning. We are from New York where excellent Chinese restaurants abound, but now reside in northeast Florida where it is impossible to find authentic Chinese food. Yes, the ambiance might be lacking and management has problems -... More

Not sure how my colleagues found this place. It's pretty run-down . The food is not only Americanized, but badly executed as well. The egg drop soup is gross . The "Peking duck" will make Beijing weep. The chicken, vegetables, fish etc. are plain bad. Enough said

Staying in Garden District

Neighbourhood Profile
Garden District
Head to the Garden District for the full-on New Orleans experience replete with quaintly clanking streetcars, proudly grandiose antebellum mansions, picture perfect avenues lined with live oaks loaded down with Spanish moss, and a wealth of beautiful churches and many more architectural marvels. Even a brief excursion here makes plain why it’s called the Garden District. So, when you visit be sure to give yourself ample time for admiration at a languidly slow pace befitting such gentile strand of riverside living and to allow you to maximize each opportunity to stop and smell the roses – and whichever other blooms you might come across. While taking it all in, you’d do well to dine at one of the city’s most beloved destinations for regional cuisine. Gourmands from far and wide (and right round the corner) swear the age-old Commander’s Palace is the best restaurant in town – and have been doing so since it opened back in 1880.
