On the corner of Bourbon and Dumaine. We ate breakfast here 25 years ago and then again this April. Locals then and now. It hasn't changed a bit. If you want a basic breakfast in a diner setting without the tourist kitsch then this is the place. The waiter and cook were a hoot. Be sure to get a "Clever... More

We loved it. We sat at the counter and gabbed with the cook and our server. We went in around 2 pm for burgers and onion rings and we were not disappointed. The burger was juicy and we had mushrooms and onions grilled with lettuce, tomato. Yummy, tasty and a super roll. The onion rings were also nicely fries and... More

A very small hole-in-the-wall restaurant. They really only have burgers. But those burgers are the BEST! Perfect food after some Bourbon Street drinking. Very friendly staff. You can tell how good it is because it is frequented by locals.

When they say "World's Best Burger", they're not kidding. Juicy, tender, and delicious toppings make for an excellent burger. The service was fast and friendly.

I stopped in to snag a pic since it was the diner used in many movies. I really don't know that I would eat there...But the employees were super friendly!

The waffles are old school fluffy with melted butter. The burgers are big and hearty. The food is the only reason to go (open 24 hours). It takes forever for the one waiter to get to you and the food comes out separately. the other three guys working didn't so much as look at anyone.

Came for breakfast and has an great omelette, at 10 am on a Monday, the hash browns had a bit too much oil and it was floating in it. Anyway you are in Big Easy who cares about diet, stay home if you are ;)

We popped into this spot in the French Quarter on a Saturday at lunch time because we could get in, when everything else seemed to be packed. The staff was rude and seemed to be overwhelmed. The cook was openly complaining about being there and every time and order would print out he would sigh and mumble something under his... More

Clover Grill - how I have such fond and blurry memories of thee. This place is situated in the Quarter and gets hopping after 2am. It's a great place for a short-order of good and greasy food served with local flair from very patient staff.

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
