The mussels here are awesome, as are the starter salads with house made salad dressing. One of my favorite places for a date night.

We were a group of 4, no reservation but we were early around 6pm and got seated immediately. Very good service and the did was delicious. I had the braised beef crepe, it was like an excellent pot roast. We all have eaten there previously and will definitely return.

This is a nearby bistro for Sunday brunch and I went with my two year old grandson who loves his $3 ala Carte order of Pommes Frites and toast. We loved the French Onion soup served piping hot! After that I had a small salad of crab salad in an avocado shell accompanied with picked onions, good pickles and nicoise... More

We went to the area to eat at another restaurant, but changed our minds at the last minute. I had never eaten a crepe and this seemed like just the place to try one. I ordered the kir blanc as my drink...it was different and quite refreshing. I then ordered the crab crepe and it was really good, full of... More

Everytime we visit, this is one of our stops. Mussels are to die for:) Great wine selection and many unique dishes. Get there early because it is very small and fills up quick.

It was Christmas eve, so maybe an off night? Service was OK. The menu was varied, maybe too varied for the kitchen to cope. My primary issue was that the crepes weren't what I expected. They were heavy and doughy. They were folded up with the sauce on the side. It was like eating a crepe with the filling on... More

You feel as if you have stepped back in time. The music is old french music and the restaurant has a cozy warm feeling like you are sitting around a fireplace with friends. Nice wine selection, too.

There were seven of us -- all with various tastes, tolerances, and need for food -- for dinner. The waiter was a pro -- couldn't be rattled -- took all we thew at him in stride which made the dining experience that much better. There was enough variety to please everyone. The waiter nailed the wine recommendation for my veal.... More

Staying in Uptown / Carrollton

Neighbourhood Profile
Uptown / Carrollton
Very much their own self sufficient unit within the greater metro area, Uptown and Carrollton tone down the urban edge with a friendly attitude and collegiate feel. Home to Tulane and Loyola Universities, all the students living in the area ensure that Uptown and Carrollton stay youthful, cosmopolitan and vibrantly fun. Two of the liveliest thoroughfares for nightlife and socializing (and yes of course more of the city’s outstandingly good food and live music) are Oak Street and Maple Street. For a truly wild time, the expansive acreage of Audubon Park, with its zoo, golf course, and actual patches of swampy wetlands, means peace and quiet are never too far away.
