My husband and I had a wonderful anniversary meal here. I consider myself a "shrimp and grits expert," and these were the best I've put in my mouth. The wine was delicious, and the bread pudding was heavenly. Wonderful place for a fine dining meal...More

Wonderful cocktails, delicious appetizers (zucchini roulade and gnocchi with spinach). The venue has a story, it's haunted, which creates a bit of mystic and charm.

Wanting to eat a light luncheon but a quiet setting, we chose Muriel's having dined there before. We were seated and presented menus. We ordered drinks and our food. Found our waitress quite nice and friendly, however, the male waiter assisting her was rather rude....More

Two of the BEST meals I've ever had in my life have been here. The atmosphere and company made it even better.

This restaurant has a rich history, and if you go to the second floor, it might feel a bit scary. As far as the food goes, it's okay. Not fine dining. We felt like we were putting them out because we didn't have reservations, although...More

Super impressed with Muriel's. The service was attentive without being intrusive. The food was incredible-- the shrimp & grits were the best I've ever had. Top 10 of restaurants we've visited within the last several years. Highly recommend!!

Right at the corner of Jackson Park the view from the upper balcony is wonderful. You can watch the buskers while having a pre-dinner drink. The food is excellent and servers professional. The place is supposedly haunted as an added attraction.

Lively musicians, artists, and performers. Can get a little more lively at night. Good family sport during the day and early evening.

Muriel's may not be as "famous" as some French Quarter restaurants, but we so enjoyed our lunch here on a hot, busy day in NOLA! Nicole and Patrick provided amazing service as did our bartender, Yvette. The interior is very classy and antique themed in...More

Loved the food, the atmosphere, and the ghost table! Seriously the best "southern style greens" I've ever had in my life!!! I've gone so far to attempt to recreate their recipe. Love this place!

French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living
lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty
Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port
of call for folks in search of a good time and a great
story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs
across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied
around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively
well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the

Pretty lax, I would recommend at least a collared shirt or a button down (no sneakers) for a man, something nice, dress, or classy jeans and top for a women, no flip flops.
We noticed that one reviewer said that the restaurant is loud. Is it loud? We are looking for quiet and romantic. If this isn't quiet and romantic, upscale dining, please make suggestions.

We did not find it loud, but moderate in noise level - a very nice place and noise did not distract

YES! Not because I'm either a strict vegetarian, nor do I keep kosher, but that was our last night in N.O. & I didn't want fish, had had gumbo & creole & other specialties. On the menu is a roasted vegetable curry that was... More
