Very close to the hotels on Canal Street and close to the a Warehouse district. Very good Po Boys and gumbo but lots of other things. I had a fried shrimp and oysters po boy and it was delicious and very filling. Service is really great and it is really part of the New Orleans tradition . It can get... More

Had a great crawfish etouffee omelette for lunch in a comfortable cafe atmosphere with a difference. Everyone stands in line to order and then finds a table where your food finds you with the help of the wonderful wait staff (and no tips are accepted). Great "old NOLA" atmosphere with good food. Thanks Mom.

Wonderful restaurant and great local food. Staff is professional and fast also very friendly. When on line they come out and explain how the line works and give you menus to look at. It's not fancy but food is great.

There are many things to order -- on any give day or time. Very interesting place. I had ham, eggs over easy and got grits. I am not a grits fan. The eggs were really "over easy" needed to be cooked a little more, the ham was great. I would need to go back several time to experience all the... More

After hearing so much about this place, we were really looking forward to our visit. My companion ordered the seafood platter. While the portions were generous, the food lacked any taste. For New Orleans, there was NO seasonings, not even salt and pepper, in the offerings. The filet of fish was overcooked and way to crunchy. Parts were inedible. I... More

Visited for dinner. No waiting. Order at the counter and served at your table. Had the fried shrimp salad which included at least 20 plus wonderfully fresh shrimp. My spouse had étouffée and red beans and rice.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
