All I can say is, the best dinner I have ever had. The best service and the warmest hospitality. Our waiter was personable and attentive but not overly so.The manager was very attentive and took us on a tour of the restaurant and gave us an in depth history of the place. The Chateaubriand was mouth watering. It was so... More

We had the Fall Lunch Special which features 3 options of appetizer, entree and dessert for $20.16. The charbroiled oysters were the best we had during our stay. The $0.25 martini of the day was a pleasant surprise. It was a Lemon Drop martini on the day of our visit. I turned my nose up at first, but ended up... More

While this restaurant has been around for many many years, the dinner experience that I just had was extremely disappointing. While the food was ok, the courses came out to our table so fast, that the waiters were having trouble finding places on the table to place them. The waiters were also trying to take the plates away before we... More

Everything was amazing! Food, service and hospitality are among the best in New Orleans! We toured the sprawling restaurant and were very impressed, especially with the vast wine cellar!

My wife and I had been through the restaurant and its "secret" back rooms twice over the last 7 years during our Cocktail History Walking Tour, but we had never eaten here. We decided to have dinner here on Wednesday, 11/9/16, around 7p. We were seated in the main dining area (behind the bar area), which has many of the... More

I took family to New Orleans for Thanksgiving week. Thinking about a review of "10 Restaurants that Changed the World," and that it included the famous Antoine's in NOLA, (as well as Schraft's, where my mother worked with my father's younger sister and the rest has been history), I decided to book Saturday dinner at the institution. Skimming reviews, I... More

Excellent gumbo and alligator soup. Fresh hot French Bread Puffed fresh potato chips- unique Pompano in parchment with lump crab meat was outstanding. For dessert we had Cherry Jubilee served over vanilla ice cream. The waiter was super attentive and was celebrating his 50th year at Antoine's.

We absolutely loved our bartender. He was a wealth of knowledge and overall NOLA information, This place is a MUST see! It is either the oldest or 2nd oldest restaurant in NOAL. They have been in operation for 175 years. The drinks are to die for and the food is amazing!

I stopped here for lunch because I happened to be hungry as I was passing by. The $20 lunch deal (plus 25 cent cocktail of the day) is a very good deal. The portion sizes were reasonable and the food tasty, if not overwhelmingly wonderful. Service was okay, if a bit spotty. The big draw, in my view, is the... More

I should have known better. After dining at Irene's Cuisine, Delmonco, Commander's Palace and Muriel's Jackson Square over the past two long weekends spent recently in New Orleans, I tried Antoine's based on it's historic reputation. Big Mistake. The service is as poor as it gets - in any restaurant, including the lowest priced ones. The waiters are old, entitled,... More

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
