Excellent meal and service. The Bayou Jambalaya, Crawfish Etouffee and Veal Chop were excellent choices. Their onions rings were so good too. Loved their bread pudding.

We were advised by our concierge at the Westin to go to Bon Ton Cafe for lunch. As our first visit to New Orleans, we were very pleased, good food, great atmosphere, and reasonably priced.

Have been here before always leave feeling the same. "So much potential. So far off and expensive". Service is way below par and borderline rude. The tables are so close to each other you can barely move. The waiter asked me to move for him about 20 times Food is about average but at fine dining prices. A meal with... More

This place is so very consistent. We come here every time we visit and we are never disappointed. Our server was Nathaniel and if you can get him, you should. He's been there forever and he's top notch - attentive but not gushy. The food is just great though the Bon Ton salad could be better. Other than that little... More

This was one of the best meals my husband and I had while in NOLA, and that's saying a lot because there are so many excellent choices! I started with the turtle soup, which was delicious. For my entree, I couldn't decide between the crawfish etouffee or the oysters Alvin, so our waitress offered to do half-and-half. Excellent suggestion, as... More

We were out looking for somewhere to have lunch and came across the Bon Ton Cafe not far from our Sheraton hotel- easy walking distance at the back. We hesitated to go in but another American man went in and said you won't be sorry- my father has been coming here for 40 years. The cafe is an old building... More

Old restaurant on Magazine Street which offers some of the best fish ever and a nice portion as well. A part of New Orleans history and not to be missed. Note there is no bar there.

We took a chance and dropped in for dinner without a reservation. It was a busy and crowded place. We found that it closes at 9:30 and it was already after 8:00. Nonetheless, we were graciously accommodated and seated at the only unoccupied table. Enjoyed a signature cocktail, catfish, softshell crab (huge!), Salad with family recipe dressing and more. A... Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
