Eat in their bacon bar for coziness. Enjoy wandering opera singers in main restaurant. Great food. Love veal locicero and seafood martini!

Went there for dinner and my husband and I both had the eggplant. Was Very good. Also had the chef's garlic bread....Soo good as well. However I must say was a bit expensive and food can't really be put on the healthy food list. Waiter Tim was very good..attentive etc. Nice place.

Go. Go here and get the pasta jambalaya. I promise you'll thank me, and the chef. It was delicious and I'd hop on a flight right now to go get a plate of this again. Amazing flavor, great ingredient mix. Wonderful all around. Only thing I may suggest is maybe the restaurant would provide some bread or something on the... More

French Quarter find. Not that crowded. Alligator Meatballs surprisingly good. Expectations were high after several French/creole/seafood dinners...piano & opera singer enhanced ambiance... expectations increased... ordered several pastas to pass...ravioli very mushy & all over cooked ... twisted baked rolls tasteless & hardened as they cooled ... 12 in our party ordered different main plates ... 10 dinners arrived & were... There is nothing on the menu, nor was the "chef" willing to make a sauce that did not contain milk, cream or cheese. Even the spaghetti sauces all contained milk or cream, Marinara included. We were "offered" an entree without any sauce. If you have food allergies this is NOT the restaurant for you.

We walked past this restaurant and thought that it looked reasonable from outside. So we went inside. The hostess greeting us was friendly and promptly showed us to a table. We found the menu interesting as the term "Entrée" in the menu actually refers to mains. Apparently, the term entree in many North American restaurants actually means mains - I... More

We had dinner at Cafe Giovanni's last night in New Orleans. Our waitress, Shaile, was darling and prompt! I had sweet and spicy shrimp with green tomatoes and grits. It was wonderful! Also the Insalate Caprese was one of the best I've had! Their after dinner drinks are great too. A truly wonderful evening!

This restaurant was recommended by hotel staff. We arrived here after 8 pm and the place had only 3 other parties eating. The host at the front door asked if we had a reservation which we found very amusing since the place was practically empty. The service was prompt and the food was good. We ordered various pasta dishes and... More

Quiet Tuesday night in the restaurant, so much so that you could hear the waiters loudly talking about a basketball game rather than taking our orders. Ordered the cheesy garlic bread which came with a small pot of marinara sauce - quite greasy but tasty enough. Entree was a trio of ravioli, cheese stick and fried Green tomatoes none of... More

When you walk in, the greeter acts like he is going to do you a favor and seat you, even though there are 10 or more empty tables. The per glass wine list is out of the low end ($7--$10 items !!!). The bread is a stale pretzel type twist, heated, so if you eat it while it is hot,... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
