First of all, if you have an aversion to being in an old place that wears its age like a badge of honor then YOU should avoid this place altogether. Now, as for our dinner visit, it was fantastic! We sat in this interesting little cubby with notes and autographs on the wall from visitors past. It's an old place... More

I thought I would try a very late lunch at one of the more famous places. Like much in new Orleans, if you don't expect much, you won't be disappointed. The hostess has a stick up her you know what that extends out the top of her head to the ceiling. I am so tired of being treated like a... More

I have to say that after years of traveling to NOLA we were so disappointed in the food this trip. It was subpar at best, but Napoleon was an exception. We had a great lunch there and tried many different items on the menu - all outstanding. Also loved the atmosphere. It's a place you shouldn't miss.

I had the shrimp po' boy and my boyfriend had the alligator sausage po' boy. Both of them were exceptionally tasty and one of the best I've ever had. You must also try the Pimm's Cup. I had the one mixed with strawberry vodka and it tasted like strawberry lemonade kicked up a notch! It was delicious and refreshing. The... More

Food was really good and the atmosphere was neat but the waiter was terrible. We were taken to our table by a lovely young lady and sat for 10 min before the waiter showed up. He asked if we needed menus and we said yes then he disappeared for 10 min. I finally waved him down and said we still... More

We were drawn in by the Muffaletta display in the window and oh my we were not disappointed. The bread was fresh, the meats were tender and tasty and the olive tapanade was just the right amount of salty with just a little bite to it. We ate outside in the courtyard. It was a lovely historic restaurant that did... More

Gorgeous, fun setting in old NOLA. Shrimp Remoulade Stuffed Avocado...Really Good! Turkey Po' Boy (this diner is not too adventurous but she loved it). I had a Pimm's Cocktail and Muffuletta. It was warm and plenty to eat at a half sandwich. Very nice experience. Zimmerman was our server and was delightful, attentive and efficient. I'd definitely return. Loved it!

Stopped in for lunch on a weekday as a solo traveler. It was really crowded and I had a short wait. Not much of an area to wait in though. The staff was friendly and efficient, Service was fast. Nice atmosphere and pleasant diners all around. Everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. Ordered the shrimp remoulade and avocado. Loved it!... More

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
