Ralph's on the Park is a truly amazing restaurant. The dining room is spacious and the bar area is open with a view of City Park. The menu is very good and has many great local dishes. On Sunday, it is great for brunch in the bar where a piano player provides an atmosphere for your brunch and memosa. Service... More

Difficult to make a choice from the menu because it all looks good. Different from the usual New Orleans fare and possibly not so fattening. There's a choice of about twelve appetizer items, including, of course, the obligatory soup and salad. I would have liked to try the Spiced Pumpkin Soup because it looks interesting with garam masala and coconut... More

Ralph's is a Brennan's restaurant, that means it's going to be pretty darn good, it is. The service is impeccable and the food delicious. The chipotle Bloody Mary is to die for. A nice way to start 2017!

I highly recommend the turtle soup. The appetizer special when we visited was seared scallops. If they offer that again, it is a must. The Ralph's 75 makes a great cocktail - not too sweet and not overly strong either. The seafood crepe was not nearly as heavy and rich as it sounds in the menu. It was very delicious.... More

First time visit in pleasant setting that didn't disappoint starting with the extra peppery Bloody Mary then onto salads and beef or trout entrees done the NOLA way without all the fussiness. Ordered truffle fries for the table though half a portion would suffice. Professional service throughout. Only complaint is that hardwood on floors and ceiling along with boisterous family... More

First visit and we loved it! Lovely location with views of City Park. Even on a rainy day, it was charming, warm and cozy. Our group of 6 thoroughly enjoyed our meals. The coffee was fantastic, the warm fresh bread was a treat. We tried the soup of the day (turkey gumbo) and it was dark and smoky, the turtle... More

We traveled from NY to NO to visit family for Thanksgiving. We took (2) family members to Ralph's based on their recommendation for weekday lunch. Being the day before Thanksgiving, it was not as crowded as normal. Greeting at the door was stuffy and some of the waitstaff could benefit from chill training but underneath all that our server was... More

We gathered recently at Ralph's which is in walking distance from our home. We were pleased with the ambiance, service, menu, and food. We had a large sampling of starters and all were delicious. The Crabmeat Daniel and City Park Salad are outstanding as are the fried oysters and agnolotti. We had the Ribeye "Pot Roast", Shrimp Curry, and Lamb... More

Meet six friends here from my high school years many moons ago. We had a nice table near the window and view of City Park. For the table we started with Roasted Brussels Sprouts and the Truffle Fries. Both delicious. It is a large portion of the fries and we got seconds on the black truffle mayo to dip them... More

We were looking forward to brunch. Our waitress was surly, our orders took almost an hour to arrive. I got the shrimp and grits. The shrimp were whole, unpeeled and mixed in with the hot grits. There were pieces of antenna and shell throughout the grits, most unappetizing. When I contacted the manager after our visit, he told me that... More

Bell, Thank you so much for the feedback. I am sorry to hear you had a disappointing experience here at Ralph's on the Park. It is true that many chefs in NOLA will leave the heads on when they cook shrimp. This is to impart the maximum amount of flavor to the dish. The shrimp we serve with grits at... More

Staying in Lakeview

Neighbourhood Profile
Lakeview extends inland from the shores of Lake Pontchartrain with much of the area reserved for family-friendly City Park. Home to the New Orleans Museum of Art, the Besthoff Sculpture Garden, Carousel Gardens Amusement Park, and the city’s own lush Botanical Gardens, City Park is a New Orleans gem and the perfect spot for outdoor fun with as much of a mix of culture and/or amusement as you would like. Beyond City Park more great excuses to stay outside beckon, whether on land or by boat. Developed a good deal later than most other New Orleans neighborhoods, Lakeview has a distinctively different look and feel compared to other parts of the city. Fans of mid century modern design and contemporary architecture particularly enjoy leisurely drives around the residential streets of Lake Vista, Park Island and along Lakeshore Drive.
