The place was super busy and a bit of a circus on the inside. It was in a cramped spot where people ordered and poured their own drinks right in the same area. Their was also seating in that spot so you could never quite get comfortable. Not a native to New Orleans so I can't understand why a sandwich... More

Walked by Johnny's two different days during lunch time and it was packed. Third day I had to check it out and the recommended roast beef po-boy was tremendous. I returned the next day for the fried shrimp po-boy and it was even better!!

Under $10 for half poboy, chips and soda. Great deal. Blackened chicken is awesome and tasty - try with outstanding mustard. Second time and consistently good.

We've been going to Johnny's for years and it's still the best place in town to get a poboy. Probably since they are the original poboy shop in town. They serve a great and cheap breakfast too.

The biscuits are amazing! Great, tender, huge biscuits, split, buttered and griddled with a little crunch in the middle. I had mine loaded with real (not prepackaged) bacon and a side of hashbrowns, aka cubed up and perfectly fried potatoes, perfection of bfast! Hubs had a biscuit, bacon and a couple of scrambled eggs with hashbrowns, also delicious and a... More

You can not go to NOLA without eating POBOY's at Johnny's! Now with that being said their bread is the best but their seafood is good but not great. Make sure when you order check your ticket. They do tend to mixup orders. I ordered a half of crawfish and half soft shell crab. I got a crawfish and shrimp.... More

Taxi driver recommended a great local place for a quick breakfast and po-poys. We were not disappointed. Breakfast was quick, fresh and delicious. Plenty of choices for everyone in our group. Nothing fancy- just a great little place.Heading back for po-boys tomorrow.

Came across this restaurant since I was staying at the nearby French Market Inn. We came here for breakfast and had a basic breakfast of eggs, sausage, potatoes and biscuits. There was a ton of food and the price was reasonable. While the food was nothing new and unique, it was good greasy diner food to get us through the... More

Brilliant po-boy, surf and turf. We'd been after trying a po-boy on our trip and this was a great hunger stop off in the French quarter. Hit the spot with a New Orleans tradition!

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
