I had been to Johnny's years ago on my last trip to New Orleans. Seriously this place is where locals and tourists alike come for a great casual meal at a bargain price. We shared the muffalata sandwich and it is heaven! The whole one is huge! One day we ate there and on our last day got one to... More

Stopped in for one lunch. Very good muffaletta po boy. Not so good looking, not so clean, but a must visit for a po boy.

We ate here on a recommendation and were not disappointed with the food. The Po-Boys are the house specially and you wouldn't go wrong trying one. The Po-Boys sandwich are big and can easily be split for 2 people. They have a special where you can get a half sandwich and a side of delicious seafood gumbo or fries. We... More

I had a 'dressed' shrimp po-boy at the suggestion of one of the tour bus drivers. I was happy that he had made that suggestion to me! This was one of the most wonderful sandwiches I've ever had! It was definitely in a class of its own! The only downside was that I was still so full, I had to... More

Having never tried a Sicilian muffuletta before, maybe I'm not the best placed to review this place but, for what it's worth, we popped in here and had one for lunch and it was very tasty. It's a type of Italian sandwich, comprising Italian cured meat, cheese and a wonderful cold (or apparently available hot) olive salad on muffuletta bread.... More

Fabulous unassuming PoBoys in a non assuming restaurant. We went there after friends raved about it. I got a half shrimp PoBoy and Gumbo. Both fabulous. My husband got a full oyster PoBoy. The bread was filling so beware. You order at a counter and there are a few places to eat inside. Some people just did carryout. Cash only!... More

Go hungry, their Po-boys are big enough to share. Packed with whatever filing you choose; from shrimp, fried crab, or alligator. Yes, you want it dressed (lettuce & tomatoes). Can get crowded but worth it.

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
