I stopped by for lunch before going to the track and was not disappointed! Had the 1/2 oyster po' boy and gumbo and it was exactly what I craved. I will absolutely return next visit.

Red beans were so smoke flavored that I could not finish them. Gumbo tasted like it was frozen, the fried food was not flavorful. Staff were not very kind. My husbands lasagna, I believe, was about the only thing worth trying out of everything and still I was not that impressed.

BBQ Shrimp Po Boy and seafood Gumbo was ordered and thoroughly enjoyed! The po boy was destined to take home and finish later... and once again enjoyed!

Luizza's was one of best lunches I have had in a few months. I highly recommend the half po boy, half soup. The Gumbo was delicious! A fanastic start to lunch! The po boy was equally as good and capped of the meal deliciously! Highly recommend!

We visit New Orleans at least once a year, and Liuzza's by the Track is one of our favorites. We usually are the only tourists in the really small place. The po'boys are excellent! I love the gumbo, which is sort of "brothy". You just can't go wrong here.

Love both locations slightly different menus, and I guess owned by different families, the gumbo and etouffee is excellent. The BBQ shrimp po-boy is tremendous, the shrimp tender and clean tasting, better shrimp than I had at Commanders., keep in mind the BBQ isn't really BBQ, it's baked with butter and seasoning. Potato salad is very good, mashed potato style.

Stopped by Liuzza's before going to horse races at the fairgrounds because of the reviews on Tripadvisor. A relaxed neighborhood hole in the wall atmosphere. The oysters on the poboy were fresh and the sandwich was very good. The gumbo was good although not the typical brown base I expected. My husband's fries were okay but were not hot. It's... More

We like to stop in for the BBQ shrimp po'boy and it is worth a quick uber (about $7) outside of the quarter to come here for lunch. Good gumbo too. Give it a try!

Went on a recommendation and was not disappointed. The food was excellent. I had the gumbo and my fiancé had the signature shrimp dish, both were flavorful and yummy.

Don't get upset about the external look of this place... we were not convinced, but after all the good reviews online we decided to give it a try! And we did good!!! Their gumbo is something I still cannot stop talking about after one month, and the shrimp po boy was delicious too! We were so full but they convinced... More
