I typically don't review places with thousands of reviews but I thought it worth mentioning that they now have a mimosa/Bloody Mary bar that was a hit for my wife and aunt. I personally loved the Eggs Benedict and Crab Cheesecake. Highly recommend both. Make reservations if you don't want to wait!

The food was okay, nothing spectacular. I had something with pulled pork and mashed potatoes and gravy and it was pretty good and my daughter had the greens and strawberry salad. It was very, very small and for lunch for the two of us, both drinking only iced tea, it was about $40 so I think it was overpriced for... More

Dria knocked it out of the park as our server! Following her recommendations we had one of the best brunches of our lives. Thank you, Palace Cafe! We'll be back as soon as we can! Thank you for the added bonus of jazz musicians at our table. Wow!!

My husband and I wanted a quick bite before meeting up with our adult kids. We were actually craving a hamburger and they didn't disappoint. We were seated quickly and served fast. Burger was perfect. Returned later that evening for bananas foster. The other places we had been didn't serve it so we went back here. We were seated quickly... More

Ah, the old days pass. In olden years Palace Cafe was one of the restaurants that kept the food - the indulgence on the palate for subtle nuance in flavor - up front. Now the chef delivers rote menu product. Don't get me wrong, quality palate is satisfied, but not the Wow! of just a couple of years ago. Did... More

I have passed Palace Cafe several times on Canal Street but have never stopped in until this trip. I discovered what I had been missing. We started with the Strawberry and Granola Salad which we shared. It was interesting with the crunchy granola and fresh strawberries. I had a glass of "draft" wine - the pinot noir - which was... There are a lot of restaurants owned by the Brennan family (and I assume they are all related, somehow) and this is one of them. They have an outside patio (if you want al-fresco dining) but we went upstairs to the Black Duck(?) bar. We didn't really want a big meal so the 3 of us decided to share the... More

Had a wonderful meal. We did need reservations. It was my birthday and one of my friends told them and we shared a DEVINE white chocolate bread pudding

The food we ordered (hamburger, shrimp) was quite good and tasty. We also had a very good dessert. The problem we had was a very slow service where our waiter "forgot" about us and another waiter took over. The second waiter was very professional and excellent.

We went here for our final night in NO. After eating for three days we weren't particularly hungry...so we were offered a chance to sit in the bar area upstairs and share a few appetizers with our wine. An excellent choice. We ordered two appetizers (one was crayfish in melted brie) which were awesome! A good choice for us and... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
