So... $0.50 oysters for happy hour. I repeat- $0.50 oysters for happy hour. Great service and I could have eaten my weight in oysters. Delicious. Great gator boudin balls too! If you want amazing food at even more amazing prices, definitely hit up happy hour!

Kevin made us feel comfortable right away and took excellent care of us. The place is modern quaint style, with a good bit of background noise, and the food is excellent. The deep-fried BBQ oysters are quite an experience: Not overly large, crispy-crusted and spiced up with the local Crystal sauce...a few go a long way. The shrimp and grits... More

4 for dinner on a late Wednesday. The place is lively with good service. I chose the smoked duck which was outstanding, we shared several other dishes including salads, everyone enjoyed their meals and service was good throughout.

We dined here our last day in New Orleans. We read good things about it, and relied on that for our choice. We had reservations and were seated right away. The seating is tight, and the room is noisy. The place was packed and there seemed to be a lot of wait staff, which is good. Our waiter, Craig, stopped... More

The restaurant is large and serves between 250-800 people per night. We started out with the oysters, which were good, but were not cold, being from the North east you expect a chill on your oysters. The salads were okay, and then the shrimp and grits, which were terrible. The grits were like oatmeal and the shrimp were definitely on... More

Skip the long lines at the tourist "must sees" the food here is amazing. The BBQ crab claws are the best thing we ate all weekend. The raw oysters were very fresh, and huge. Service from Chaz was outstanding and the drinks were on point. One of the highlights of the weekend.

This restaurant was recommended by our son and his wife, and I can certainly say we were not disappointed. It is a lovely restaurant with delicious food and excellent service. Ike was our waiter whose passion in telling us about the many entrees offered and the restaurant's specialties made us eager for this dining experience. I had black drum with... More

We had appetizers of alligator boudin balls and BBQ oysters, WOW!!! Both of our fish entrees were great. I keep wondering how this place is only rated 4.1 stars as I believe it was worthy of more. Highly recommend!!

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
