If you can overlook the greasy spoon café-bar look and feel to the place, St. Charles Tavern provided me with an un-eggs-pectedly delicious shrimp omlet w/ herbs comparable to any I might cook for myself and my guesthouse diners in the country!

Stopped in for a Bloody Mary and a beer. Sign says the place is open 24 hours which could explain why it looks like it could use a good cleaning. But the Mary was good and the barkeep very friendly and several people were eating rather large plates of food.

I had the two eggs breakfast. The hash brown were the best !!. Eggs were over cooked. Everybody in my group seemed to enjoy theirs, except the overcooked eggs all around.

Excellent food, excellent service, excellent staff! Very friendly! Husband had the gumbo said it was the best he had, I had their ribeye special. The steak was perfectly cooked the way I requested. The baked potato was loaded with all the goodies! Will be back!

This is your typical restaurant that has good, cheap food. It has very large windows which is great to people watch as they walk down St. Charles. They have a variety of fairly generic food ie burgers, salads, spaghetti and meatballs.

This place was walking distance from my hotel so decided to try. I had low expectations as this is a 24/7 place. It was very dark and not many people in there. I had the special which was on chalk board of shrimp etouffee over pasta topped with blackened cat fish. OMG, it was the most wonderful thing I have... More
