The reviews of this place were pretty consistent - amazing food but sketchy place - so I decided to check it out. I am all for dives and holes in the wall with great food. That said, I don’t get how this place is allowed...More

My husband and I ran across this little dive years ago during a garden district carriage ride. It’s tradition now! The oyster po boys are excellent as is the fire cracker shrimp. We love the neighborhood vibe it has.

Party of 8 stopped by for lunch last week. Restaurant needs a little TLC and work, but the food was great. 4 of us had the Roast Beef Po Boy and 4 had the Firecracker Shrimp Po Boy. Both sandwiches were huge and were tasty....More

My husband mentioned Parasol's again last month as the best muffaletta he has ever eaten. Not only is it warmed but also the meats are grilled on the flattop. Layers of flavors, and that is what you get with the Italian Sundae: Homemade potato salad,...More

We had the fiery shrimp and fried chicken po-boy - it was huge and tasted good. The restaurant and bar definitely needs an upgrade. One of my friend recommended this place for food but the overall ambiance was a real downer. I will not recommend...More

We went here after hearing it recommended by a few friends. Do not be surprised: it is a dive. (I think that's kinda their thing...) There was a bit of an iffy smell throughout the bar the day we visited so honestly, that's kind of...More

This is not a fancy place but it does deliver an amazing poboy. This sort of meal is very New Orleans and to me the experience can't be beat. Great sandwich at a reasonable price with some nice folks.

Roast Beef was very good. Got it to go but the wait was a little longer than expected. They don't answer their phone so you have to order at the counter. Overall I would get another, but service is lacking and they don't answer the...More

Do not be fooled by the outside appearance of the restaurant. After taking a Garden District walking tour, we wanted a light lunch. The staff were very friendly. We split a shrimp po-boy and fries. It was delicious and a lot of food. The fries...More

Yes, it is a dive and it looks awful from the outside, but do not be deceived. The catfish po boys were terrific. The fried fillets were sliced thin and fried to perfection. The bread was phenomenal--not the thick French bread we are used to...More

Sorry, I can't answer this question, but they may. Whatever they use was very light. Like Patricia suggested, you should call them.

Description
Born in 1952, in the Irish Channel neighborhood, Parasol's is a New Orleans tradition that is known as THE place to go for roast beef po boys, and a huge St. Patricks Day block party. We are a neighborhood bar to the world, where everyone is welcome and treated like an old friend. Our kitchen is dedicated to taking old school New Orleans food to a new level of flavor and quality. Belly up to the old Irish bar and enjoy a pint of Guiness or wander upstairs to our smoke free dining room. You can indulge in our delicious food either way. Parasol's is a throw back to a simpler time when the social life of the neighborhood centered around the corner bar. A place where the stuff of life is discussed, celebrated and even mourned. At Parasol's it's all about you !
