5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed yesterday NEW

Our party of three had a late lunch on the last day of our 5-day NOLA trip. The food was outstanding. We started with the special salad and fried green tomatoes. We ate every last bit. Two of us had shrimp/grits, one had a hamburger. Dishes were so good we cleaned our plates. A good selection of wines by the... More

Food was wonderful. Server was awful. She really ruined the experience. Too bad, because everything else was so nice.

Fabulous little restaurant with a very interesting menu. We shared the fried oyster appetizer which was fabulous (4 huge oysters flash fried) and then order the yellowfin tuna entree and shrimp and grits. Both were delicious except I am not a fan of bacon and so I thought there was too much of it with the shrimp and grits. The... More

We weren't able to get a table inside, but fortunately it was a great day, the weather was beautiful, and so we took one of two outside tables. Our waiter was very nice, but a tad slow. Probably because he had a lot of walking to do, to get out to us. But very accommodating. I don't remember what wine... More

Friends recommended this place so we had lunch here. We are frequent visitors to Nola and are foodies. My boyfriend used to own a restaurant so knows food. He had the turtle bolognese and I had the trout sandwich special. His was too salty but ok and mine was bland. The actual fish was good but the coleslaw was soggy... More

wonderful little place on magazine; interesting and creative menu (eg.alligator bolognese with a deep fried hard-boiled egg - awesome) and the butter scotch "pudding" in a mason jar was also most excellent

It lived up to the hype for me. The service was prompt and courteous, and the atmosphere, lovely. Everything we ate and drank was fantastic. Whiskey cocktails, brussel sprouts, paneed rabbit, seared tuna...I would order every single thing again. Even the bread for the table is very well done. Definitely priced to be a treat, but does not feel overpriced.... More

Yummy! One of the best meals I had in Nola! The blue crab beignet and butterscotch pudding are musts!

To be candidly honest, we stopped going to this restaurant several years ago as the food was just too trendy for me. With Pascal Manaul, La Crepe Nanou and Upperline which have better menus close by, it just doesn't work for me, but my wife still likes it. My wife always liked it more than I as it was so... More

Staying in Garden District

Neighbourhood Profile
Garden District
Head to the Garden District for the full-on New Orleans experience replete with quaintly clanking streetcars, proudly grandiose antebellum mansions, picture perfect avenues lined with live oaks loaded down with Spanish moss, and a wealth of beautiful churches and many more architectural marvels. Even a brief excursion here makes plain why it’s called the Garden District. So, when you visit be sure to give yourself ample time for admiration at a languidly slow pace befitting such gentile strand of riverside living and to allow you to maximize each opportunity to stop and smell the roses – and whichever other blooms you might come across. While taking it all in, you’d do well to dine at one of the city’s most beloved destinations for regional cuisine. Gourmands from far and wide (and right round the corner) swear the age-old Commander’s Palace is the best restaurant in town – and have been doing so since it opened back in 1880.
