A friend recommended this place so we popped in for a coffee and a snack. It was bad. The cafe is dark and dirty - the restroom especially. The chocolate croissant my wife ordered was so old they microwaved it to give it some life. I have tasted vending machine pastry better than this. They served me a slice of... More

We always stay at the Hotel Villa Convento in NOLA and this place is right across the street. Friendly staff and food is awesome. $10 minimum required for credit card purchases.

The pastries here are exceptional....comparable to a fresh pastry in Paris. The croissants will melt in your mouth. If you want a little more substance, get the croissant filled with ham and cheese - unbelievable! They also offer a variety of quiches that are very good. We went early and did not have to wait at all. Would definitely go... More

This place was opposite my hotel so I decided to check it out. Quite a long line going out the door but it was worth the wait. Great croissants, and quiches are offered. Coffee is okay but the reason people go to this place are for the bakery items. You can either eat in or order food to go.. It... More

Love this restaurant for a morning brunch. The chicken salad on croissant (even the plain or the almond)is great and plenty of food to hold you over for several hours. Have bought cakes in the past here and have always been well pleased. Every pastry I have ever tried has been fabulous! One of our favorite go to's for enjoyable... More

Excellent pastry. Delicious iced tea. Seating area cool with attractive white tiled interior. Located on a quieter side street in the Quarter.

On a recent trip to the French Quarter, we ate at Le Croissant d'Or on two separate occasions. The croissants and café au lait are a little bit of heaven. Cannot wait for our next visit.

Reminded me of a typical European bakery cafe. We will be going back there again next time we are in town.

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
