We went there twice! The range of food was too great for just one time...the boiled crawfish, oysters, creole shrimp and alligator sausages were simply superb. The service was good, the restaurant is open late...this is a great introduction to the food of Louisiana!

Great food and drinks. I had the jambalaya and it was delicious! The strawberry beer was good too. My husband had peel and eat steamed shrimp and the. Went back the second time for steamed crawfish...he loved everything. He ate the oysters too and thought they were amazing. The hush puppies were good too. Would definitely visit again.

Brought my Maryland friend here to experience local food. No line, excellent service, food was yummy. The choices are exactly what one would expect when trying to entertain out-of-towners.

My husband and I went here for lunch one day with our large dog that most of the staff didn't mind, they wanted to talk to him and brought him water, except one guy that was obviously scared of dogs, since he had a comment that wasn't very nice every time he went past or if the other people working... Trying to decide on a restaurant a local working at a restaurant across from the Frenchman said, "the place across the street is better." Granted my opinion of this restaurant may be a bit biased due to the hurricane consumed prior to entering this establishment but it was truly a great place for dinner and drinks. All the employees were... More

We were recommended this place by a local who was a former employee. Excellent choice! It's a very old building with lots of character. The place was packed, although we did not have to wait in line. No complaints with the wait staff. Food: Abundant and delicious. I had the Shrimp & Crabmeat Remoulade Stuffed Avocado Salad - it was... More

We came here purely due to the crawfish we could see cooking in the window. Did not disappoint. Was fantastic. The atmosphere of the restaurant not amazing, very basic but we were there on a weekday around midday. Service was friendly and easy.

The food was good. Space is small and service was scattered. When our server remembered us she was lovely. My mojito came 1/2 hr after ordered. Drinks were refilled in adequate time and bathroom was clean. Fresh oysters were great, Oysters Rockefeller not the greatest but the Small cup of Gumbo was the best ive ever eaten. superb.

This is a nice place, but I don't know if it is worth the money. The wait staff seem to run ragged, and the crawfish didn't seem very fresh. My wife had a pasta dish that was really good, and I had peel and eat shrimp that were very good.

We just happened on this place while walking in the French Market area. What good luck! It's an old restaurant . . . been there since the 1800's and it's by no means fancy. To me it's one of those older places that are absolute gems for just darn good cooking. I ordered oysters on the half-shell for an appetizer... More

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
