The Desire Oyster Bar is part of the Royal Sonesta and makes for a great dinner to start off your evening in the French Quarter. The seafood is of good quality as well as the New Orleans classics like jambalaya and gumbo. The staff were...More

The best oysters in NOLA are at Desires! Such a great time sitting at the oyster bar when Kentrell is working. He demonstrates such classic New Orleans service and hospitality while making the best chargrilled oysters! A lot of people were talking about how the...More

We were lucky to have gone early. Or else you have to queue up for table. And, the other benefit to go early is to enjoy their oysters at happy hour price at USD1/pc.

Yes, you are right, the earlier the better as our Happy Hour Prices are amazing. Not only on oysters but we have drink specials as well. Thanks for posting!

I ate breakfast here three days in a row. The food is inconsistent, but never bad. Just a bit different each day.

My husband and I sat at the bar and had shrimp and grits and red beans and rice. Both were very good. The service was not great, especially when they found out we weren't having oysters but I would still recommend it for the food.

We were lucky enough to get "KIKI" for our waitress. Not only were her dinner suggestions perfect but the timing and delivery of the food and drinks made the whole experiencejust wonderful. She was professional and delightful! And yes the raw oysters were amasing.
