Brad was our server and he could care less. I would never again go back. They were rude, and food did not make up for it. Wasted 2 hours for nothing.

We found Cafe Amelie through Tripadvisor and were very pleased with our meal. We both ordered the Atlantic salmon ($26) with roasted fingerling potato, asparagus and horseradish sauce. Everything was cooked perfectly. My husband enjoyed a nice Riesling and I had ice tea. Our waitress was very attentive and our meal arrived quickly. There is outside dining in a lovely... More

One of the best places in the French Quartier! but be aware of the hundreds of tourists looking for a table and if you can, choose a weekday (mondays and tuesdays is closed)

Five of us had dinner on a Saturday night - and chose a range of meals including vegetarian. A slight problem with one dish was fixed efficiently and the ambience and service were first class. Good fresh cooking to a reassuringly short menu. Next time we'll book the courtyard.

My husband and I and our good friend spent two day prior to and two days after a cruise in New Orleans. As our designated "activities planner", I arranged new places in NOLA to try. So, we began our vacation with a long, leisurely evening dinner at Café Amelie. This place is everything I expect a NOLA restaurant should exemplify:... More

We went to “Amilie’s” for Brunch and started w/excellent Bloody Mary’s. We opted for the breakfast items on the menu, having the best grits of our trip, so far. Lauren, our waitress, was a very pleasant addition to a wonderful brunch; she actually remembered us from our last visit in March, a very nice touch. “Amilie’s”, we were told it... More

Went for lunch with two friends, only one of us was happy with their selection, salmon. Cochon du lait sandwich way too spicy as to be almost inedible. Hide the pepper from the cook. Lamb meatloaf sandwich so dry ketchup requested to make it palatable. Very disappointing food quality. A shame with such a beautiful locale.

This is a very prettily set garden restaurant which should have been a pleasure. Had to book three days in advance and was advised if weather inclement then would automatically be given a table inside. And yet table was not available on arrival but when Tried to sit at another empty table and was told not to as it was... More

This restaurant is tucked away just slightly off of Bourbon St. we were a large party traveling g on business. The menu was simple, but with enough options. The shrimp and grits was absolutely delicious. Wait staff very engaging and attentive.

Please note that the courtyard is seated on a first come, first serve basis. A reservation does not guarantee seating in the courtyard but we will have a table available inside our beautiful, historic carriage house. We normally allow reservation space for only 50% of the dining room to accommodate walk-ins. Additionally, in order to accommodate all of our guests who are waiting to be seated, we are only able to seat your party once everyone has arrived. Nestled in the historic 150-year-old Princess of Monaco Courtyard and Carriage House on Royal Street in the French Quarter, Cafe Amelie is a rare combination of superb Louisiana fare served in a lush, enchanting New Orleans courtyard setting. Cafe Amelie has a full bar offering an array of signature cocktail creations. Cafe Amelie and the accompanying Princess of Monaco Courtyard are also available for private parties, weddings and receptions.

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
