Corner Oyster B&G has a great location and serves the expected Cajun and Creole dishes in addition to seafood. There's nothing about this restaurant that sets it aside though. We experienced good service, although when we popped in for a snack it was probably only 20% full. It loans itself to being yet another sports bar, without calling itself one,... More

The good stuff. The fried oysters were amazing. Very flavorful, a full size order not a bad price. Also the mixed boiled shellfish was tasty as well. Prices were fair for being part of a very historical and touristy area. However, the very slow service where we had to remind the server that yes we had ordered a beer yes... More

I hate giving anything under than a stellar rating, especially when I know the staff is super busy, as they were on Easter weekend. However, when we wait an hour for our food and everything is cold and soggy, it's just not a place I'd like to revisit, especially with what we paid for the food.

Good service, very good atmosphere, and a little better than average food. It would be worth trying again and ordering something different. We stopped at the restaurant on the other corner but they were closing and recommended the Corner. It was just fine and a good value.

Thought we would try there because we were hungry. Got seated promptly and ordered. Initially the waitress was nice but then one of the items that were ordered were unavailable. When she came back to tell me I told her I didn't want anything else but the other two people in the party that ordered were still going to eat... More

Stopped in for lunch while visiting the French Quarter. The grilled alligator appetizer was delicious! The shrimp was good too. Fries were nothing special. Nice views!

On our final day in the French Quarter we were looking to be insouciant ( look it up ). No plans, just wander and "graze". Antoine's and Brennan's may be great, but after that you want to check out the joints. Everything at the Corner Oyster Bar and Grill was good, but the Charbroiled oysters were exceptional. Danny, and the... More

Always eat here when we come to NOLA. The sampler plate is the way to go! My husband and I split it. The shrimp creole is fabulous! Just good food!!

We were on a time limit as we were going on a ghost tour and needed to meet at 8:15, so we looked for a restaurant near our meeting point for the tour. First clue should have been that the restaurant was nearly empty at almost 7 p.m. Obviously we were seated quickly. The waitress came, gave us menus, took... More

Not only was the service slow even though the place was nearly empty, but the food was awful. Most disturbing was the fact that our waitress appeared to be ill, and the manager was watching over her constantly. She leaned on the table while taking our order, and we think she threw up when she ran through the kitchen door... More

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
