Visited daily during our stay. Atmosphere was eclectic. Simple fare of eggs, a choice of meat, and eggs. Friendly service

Leave the tourist area and come to Treme. Great Sunday brunch with all the creole favorites in a small but wonderful buffet. Every table gets just made french toast. One of the highlights of my trip.

Small place, great food, the red beans and rice is a must have. A lot of celebrities visit this place. The ice tea is a must have, the environment was so friendly. We walked in and saw Kevin Westbrook sitting there. I loved the fact that no one was pestering him, they snapped a few photos and that was it,... More

When we walked into Lil Dizzy's I knew we were in for something special.Everything about the place was rich with authenticity. The smells, the smiles for the staff, and did I mention the food?...delicious, and exactly how I had hoped. We had an eggs and sausage, grits breakfast one morning, and because we got there late the next day we... More

Wow. Upon arrival it appears to be a quaint cafe which lots of locals. The server offered to have the buffet and wow, it was the best! We had bananas foster, gumbo, and other things I'm not sure of the names but we ate it all. I'm so glad our guide told us about this place. Very reasonable prices and... More

If you're looking for an authentic New Orleans Home Cooked Meal, then this is your place. Even the Restaurant itself is like sitting in your Grandma's kitchen listening to her fuss at your Auntie while she cooks up your food with love and all the best the area has to share. Shrimp and Grits will tantalize your tastebuds and the... More

This is a restaurant located in a ok area of New Orleans, parking is limited. Food is homemade style and very delicious, prices a little higher than expected however the tasty food made up for it. Wait staff very friendly. Will recommend!

We were driving by and saw line of people waiting to get in. Decided to stop and glad we did. It was Sunday breakfast and the place was packed. Inside was a flurry of activity, the wait staff racing around and the owner keeping all on their toes. The wait staff and the chefs (who cook right next to the... More

My husband and I first heard about Dizzy's on the food network channel and it immediately became one of my places to visit on my bucket list. We went to Vegas on Jan 13th and ended up flying out of New Orleans. The first thing we did was drove to Dizzy's and had an amazing lunch. We read all the reviews... More

Staying in Treme

Neighbourhood Profile
Treme
That sound? That flavor? That certain je ne sais quoi that lets you known you’re in “Nawlins” and nowhere else? It’s all good and in broad abundance on the streets of Tremé, where so much of what’s considered to be the very best of New Orleans culture and tradition is, put simply, just how people go about their daily lives in this historic part of town. As one of America’s oldest African-American neighborhoods and among the nation’s first established residential areas for free people of color, Tremé’s significant heritage and contribution cannot be understated. This is especially the case when considering some of Tremé’s most famous residents, most notably jazz great Louis Armstrong. For full flavored food, funky and jazzed up music, and vibrant street life presented with homegrown pride, you can’t beat a visit to Tremé.
