Try the Huevos Rancho. You won't be disappointed. Best I've ever had. A place where the locals go. They should know

I came here with my mom, sister, and her two young kids, and we all liked this place a lot. I got the crawfish etoufee over grits and eggs cooked to order. it was excellent! had just enough kick to it! my sister also really liked their huevos rancheros, and they had plenty of options for the kids too. though... Aside from the fact that they make a great croque monsieur sandwich (ham and gruyere cheese) and some of the best potato salad I've ever put in my mouth, the Tout de Suite Cafe is a wonderfully quaint almost bohemian spot just outside the city. Algiers is the only of New Orleans' 17 parishes located on the west bank of... More

This cafe, despite having changed owners is still good. The food (sandwiches) is good but I liked best that everything came with a house salad. I had the mac and cheese which was good, but it was my third choice. Both the Quiche du Jour and Baguette au Fromage had sold out. There was free wifi with the password posted... More

Went here while on vacation. My husband had the blueberry pancake, and said it was the best he ever had. I had the bacon & eggs - all done just like I asked. Cute place and very friendly staff.

We were staying just 4 blocks from here so walking here for breakfast was great. It is very small and VERY busy, It can be difficult to get a table. Nothing fancy but a little café were the locals go. The staff is friendly, the prices seemed a bit high but on vacation you just enjoy eating out!

This isn't a fancy cafe but a great local place in Historic Algiers. There were tables and chairs outside and doggie treats indoors. The breakfast selection included all the standard fare like bacon and eggs with hash browns. The huevos rancheros had perfectly poached eggs. The regular coffee was fine and there were fancier options for latte lovers. You can... More

Staying in Algiers

Neighbourhood Profile
Sitting pretty across the Mississippi River from the rambunctious French Quarter, the Crescent City’s second oldest neighborhood is as historic and as scenic as any – just a lot less showy about it. With its numerous 19th and early 20th century homes and plentiful parks and riverside green space for cycling and walking, subdued and low key Algiers yields the best views of New Orleans and offers a quiet haven from the hustle and bustle in other parts of town. Most of the area’s activity, for visitors anyway, takes place at Algiers Point where the famous Canal Street / Algiers Ferry has been the main attraction since 1827 and is still giving folks one of the best rides in town at very affordable rates. Restaurants, bars and music venues here all but guarantee the utmost of authentic experiences sans any hype or high prices.
