Enjoyed a delicious cappucino here and friends enjoyed a delicious muffin too - sat outside and enjoyed the sunshine. Wonderful!

We ate here for breakfast several times on our stay.First, the food is outstanding, the wait staff are super friendly, and it is a really friendly local place. You can get food to go, eat in, or sit outside at the tables.I just have to saythe ham is fabulous.

This isn't a fancy cafe but a great local place in Historic Algiers. There were tables and chairs outside and doggie treats indoors. The breakfast selection included all the standard fare like bacon and eggs with hash browns. The huevos rancheros had perfectly poached eggs. The regular coffee was fine and there were fancier options for latte lovers. You can... More

It's well worth the $2 ferry ride (each way/cash only) over to Algiers Point just to enjoy the wonderful food and hospitality at Tout de Suite Cafe. Sadly, we missed breakfast, but lunch was spectacular. The Croque Monsieur was wonderful, as well as the special request of grilled vegetables that we noticed made for a local. New Orleans is all... We were told to come here to have lunch by friends. They said that there were not many choices on Algiers Point and this was the best. It was a good stop. Freshly made sandwiches in an old throwback building where it seemed like time stood still. Locals and tourists so I felt we were given good advice.

Dropped in for a late lunch at 2 pm. Great location in old Algiers, close to the ferry, etc. cozy restaurant, sat inside but they have a few tables outside as well. Nice menu for such a small place, a step above your average cafe. We both got the roasted chicken on wheat. Good sandwich but had wayyyyy to much... More

Open for breakfast and lunch only. Substantial brunch on Sunday. Menu had unusual and varied items but food was unremarkable. Place was old, almost scruffy, but clean and interesting.

... was absolutely fantastic. Lovely little venue, a 5 - 10 minute walk from the ferry. The gravy is something else!! I'll be dreaming of that stuff :)

Good variety of coffee and great food. Weekends are busy and difficult to read/socialize with the neighbors with folks hovering around for a table. I suggest weekday visit, all on the menu are good and plentiful.

I was excited to try out the local breakfast spot one block down from my new home in algiers point. However it seems that showing up an hour before close is too late. Which is a shame considering I had dreams of a daily after work meal that I wouldn't have to cook myself. I'm not one to leave poor... More

Staying in Algiers

Neighbourhood Profile
Sitting pretty across the Mississippi River from the rambunctious French Quarter, the Crescent City’s second oldest neighborhood is as historic and as scenic as any – just a lot less showy about it. With its numerous 19th and early 20th century homes and plentiful parks and riverside green space for cycling and walking, subdued and low key Algiers yields the best views of New Orleans and offers a quiet haven from the hustle and bustle in other parts of town. Most of the area’s activity, for visitors anyway, takes place at Algiers Point where the famous Canal Street / Algiers Ferry has been the main attraction since 1827 and is still giving folks one of the best rides in town at very affordable rates. Restaurants, bars and music venues here all but guarantee the utmost of authentic experiences sans any hype or high prices.
