We had a delicious dinner. There was a good wine list. I greatly enjoyed the Cabernet that I chose. I had the Elk, which was perfectly cooked and tender. The atmosphere was more fine dining than the other restaurants we looked into when visiting the Custer area, but it was still relatively casual. The service was good.

Arrived here mid-afternoon but lunch was still available. Very nice dining room in an classic lodge that looks like a smaller National Park facility. We had bison burgers, prepared medium rare as requested. Very good service. The only downside was the custodial worker who decided to vacuum while we were eating - coming by our table twice. This looks like... More

The hamburgers, club sandwich and fries were delicious. Everything was fresh, tasty, big, and very filling! I would recommend it to anyone.

During a bus tour, we stopped for lunch at the State Game Lodge Dining Room in the State Game Lodge. Historically this property was visited by President's Coolidge and Eisenhower in years past. The dining room is well decorated and has the feel of a stately manor. There were only a few other partons present besides my tour group so... More

We ate three meals at the State Game Lodge while staying there last week. The wait staff was so welcoming and helpful with menu selection and what to see in the area. The elk osso buco was the best!

We had lunch here after our jeep tour, and it was a very pleasant experience. We were seated promptly. Atmosphere is like a hunting lodge with lots of wood. Good choices on the menu Had the cobb salad, and the soup and salad buffet, which included homemade buffalo stew. Everything was very good. Server, Alfredo, was very personable and checked... More

We came upon this lovely lodge at the end of a day of touring the area. What a perfect way to end a delightful day. The lodge is known for its famous presidential visitors (Coolidge and Eisenhower). The lodge was cozy and inviting on this fall day with a fire going in the lobby. The food was better than what... More

The State Game Lodge Dining Room was a stop on our all-day sightseeing trip with Mount Rushmore Tours. Because of our limited time, our tour guide recommended that we choose the lunch buffet. The restaurant was clean, the servers handled the large crowds with ease and the buffet area was clean and well stocked. My husband enjoyed the buffalo stew... More
